Btw, i am a bit surprised to know that a flight lieutenant with navigator wing was flying in a fighter aircraft.

In PAF, it generally doesn't happen. Navigators are only allowed in the cockpit of large body aircrafts.

Is a WSO considered a fully rated pilot on the platform? Maybe they have navigators as WSO?

Must have the GDP wing.

Back in good days, in PAF, we occasionally used to have joy rides with AD and Engg officers in the rear cockpit. However, the perk was later denied to ground branches after probably a fatal crash.

@AeronautIR - may comment.

SU-30s were very restricted during recent Gaurada 2026 exercise in France.

No carrying of training missiles, only flying 3 hours a day during daylight hours, always accompaied by Rafales of French AF, upon take off had to manouvre to avoid urban areas (French aircraft were not restricted like this)

All of this was reported in AFM. Now we can see why.....

This officer is claimed to be the WSO of the crashed Su-30. I guess it depends on the mission requirements whether you go with a pilot or navigator in the rear cockpit.

Will India Accept Su-57 Downgraded Export Version?

The Sukhoi Su-57 and its export variant, the Su-57E, look identical externally but possess critical internal differences. Russia designed the domestic Su-57 for its Aerospace Forces with highly classified avionics and top-tier sensor fusion. Conversely, the Su-57E is tailored to protect sensitive technology while meeting international export controls.

One major distinction involves electronic warfare suites and radar signature suppression. The export model features adjusted electronics and software to prevent foreign access to guarded source codes. Furthermore, the Su-57E features a customized cockpit where displays use English and instruments read in imperial units instead of metric readings. The export version also boasts flexible architecture. This open design allows buyers to integrate non-Russian weapons and communication systems seamlessly into the stealth platform. These careful adaptations make the advanced fighter incredibly marketable globally.

Republic World should not be taken seriously. They are full of crackpots, starting with Arnab.

Russian electronics is not advanced to begin with

India has two choices.

1) F-35, but they become dependent on America.

2) Su-57, but they lose their air advantage against Pakistan, tech wise.
