We'd get what we need post the operation / war is the IAF's motto lol , even after having such a big budget they buy stuff only after the operation

So much fire from a tire burst 💥??
First it was overrun aircraft (Class A damage)
Then they said - Hard landing - all good to go
Now its just a tire burst

Pretty soon it will be perfect landing - fire normal for aircraft and symbol of India’s agnidurvata strategy

Even if its messed up or broken landing gear or busted tire, i don't think it will fixed in a week or month like some Indians are saying, its a fighter jet not a CD-70 Honda motorcycle. It will go through some testing process and other checks before it will be clear to fly again unless Indians want to risk the lives of their pilots.

Only in india a tyre burst on a fighter jet about to take off would be non violent incident, in any other country it would probably result in serious damage to the aircraft even if there was no fire

India’s Fourth Air Force Incident in Four Months Sparks Alarm as Fighter Squadrons Fall to Crisis Levels

A Su-30MKI runway failure at Pune has intensified scrutiny of India’s shrinking fighter fleet, delayed Tejas and Rafale programs, and weakening ability to sustain simultaneous pressure against Pakistan and China.

(DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA) — The Indian Air Force has suffered its fourth major aircraft incident within four months, exposing an increasingly dangerous intersection between shrinking squadron numbers, rising operational tempo, and delayed modernization across India’s combat aviation inventory.

The latest episode, involving a Su-30MKI that blocked Pune Airport after an apparent undercarriage failure, immediately transformed a routine runway emergency into a wider debate about India’s weakening two-front deterrence posture.

With only about 29 operational fighter squadrons available against an authorized requirement of 42, every damaged aircraft now carries disproportionate strategic significance for India’s airpower balance against Pakistan and China.

Indian Air Force officials described the Pune episode only as “an incident involving an IAF aircraft,” while emphasizing that crews were working rapidly to restore operations and minimize wider disruption.

That carefully restrained language followed three earlier incidents during 2026, including a microlight trainer force-landing, a damaged Tejas fighter, and a fatal Su-30MKI crash in Assam.

The pattern has intensified scrutiny because each incident has occurred while India remains trapped inside its deepest combat squadron deficit since the middle of the twentieth century.

The retirement of the last MiG-21 Bison squadrons during 2025 removed India’s oldest fighter force, yet replacement aircraft have not arrived quickly enough to prevent accelerating numerical erosion.

That photo used in the above article is from 2019 - in Goa.... And that's a MiG-29 from their useless NAVY.

They have now lost 16 SU-30MKI, not far off a Sqds worth, however the REALLY interesting thing here is that 5 of these losses are in just the last 3 years. You take away that, and the type has a very decent safety record as they have been flying this plane for almost 30 years. This means that the recent spate of losses can indicate maintenence issues, possibly due to age or lack of support from Russia?

Not even a crash.
Pune airport confirms it was just landing gear issue which caused it get stuck in middle of runway.
Right, 'cause nothing ever goes wrong with ya'll.

I mean, you guys hid that last Tejas Crash for over 2 Weeks & only revealed it once the story got "leaked".

[Coincidently, that one crashed too after landing - which only suggests 1 thing]

I recall a couple of years back (2024) when the last JF-17 crashed, there were some genius that claimed that Pakistan was hidding it from the Feb '19 skirmish.

[6 Years too late, huh]

Like seriously..., the crash had just happened & Indian "Defence" Forums were going nuts.

I swear..., if the Tejas crash from DxB Air Show '25 had not be captured crashing on camera - the folks in India would never accept that it ever happened.

Those two idiots from Ctrl+Alt+Defence (Visnu Som & the other muchar') love labelling the IAF Pilots as "The Best", but at the end of the you have nothing to show for.

IAF to repair Sukhoi damaged in Pune hard landing, panel will give budget estimate for repairs.

Another reason behind establishing the court of inquiry is to assess the physical damage to the aircraft. "The damage needs to be repaired, and for that we require a budget. Allocation of budget mandates an inquiry report. Hence, the panel will also investigate this aspect," said another IAF officer

The videos don't give a good picture. But good luck with repairs 👍
