I believe imo it will be shelved

The reason being it's not needed now big numbers of Rafales are coming and license built in India

Tejas mark two will eat up 15 billion dollars more which India will not have spare if Amca is being pushed

The time line between Amca and Tejas two is too close
Tejas first flight 2027 entry 2032
Amca first flight 2030 entry 2037-2038
Rafales induction in all of this
It's too much money though me resources

Yasser said Tejas would die he was right
But he got it wrong it's mark 2 that will quietly die soon not mark one

Hence my quotes to silicon about how the Tejas one will act as wolf packs swarms to divert enemy fighters and act as Decoys and provide quick reaction caop mission at half the cost per hour of flights and give india more numbers which they desperately lack
We cannot build an air force of 600 planes just on Rafale Mki and Amca it's impossible
We need workhorse like Pakistani Thunders or USA falcons

It was your compatriot Harpy who yapped on about 7 May when his ego got hurt about discussion of the IAF...look through the posts.
Lie
I never started the 7th follow the audit trail

I asked to stick to the topic three occasions
I ask again forget the Sindoor it's over
This is about Indian air force
Huge modernisation plan way too late but about to kick off big style I
Not just Rafales or Tejas either
The tie up with Dassult is a god send and great decision to avoid su57 for now at least until it's matured and Ukraine war is over then we can revisit later

No country in the world bar USA can Field 1000 fifth generation fighters by 2035
Why, you are assuming based on your own assumption, but fifth gen isn't some luxury crown jewel in the eyes of PLAAF, most of the older flanker platform like J-11, J-11A even J-7, J-8 units are going to be replaced with J-35, and we definitely don't have to wait until 2035 to see the number crossing a 1000.

The usual suspects are derailing the thread with Discussion about 7th may. Take quick action.
Ok got the new policy. never mind.
I would normally respond to your post but you are selective. You fail to point the twat that started the derailing - is it because hes got indian flags?

This is brilliant podcast
These guys predicted months ago how decisive this move to leverage the existing Rafale fleet in very large numbers over a new combat type just made so much sense
Already existing infrastructure
Ready to manufacture in India
Massive use of sensors and electronics quantim.leap in capability

And somebody called it desperate attempt to modernise
What a weird statement they have only being trying for 15 years dam it lol 🤣

Indian Air Force has lost another LCA Tejas [3rd Tejas Crash] in an accident earlier this month at a key air base when Tejas was landing after a training sortie.

‎As per India's media outlet "Economic Times", the Tejas fleet is now undergoing extensive checks as investigations into the incident are underway.

‎The airframe has been severely damaged & has been written off, however the pilot survived the crash.
