Seems like the "done deal" for 114 Rafales has been stalled, France not even allowing India access to interface control document now, let alone source codes, so they cannot tailor Rafale at all.

No Tejas delivered in 3 years now

Rafale fleet down to 28-30 planes.

No SU-30 upgrade signed

SU-57 talks going nowhere.

I think people do not realise the upcoming disaster that is happing to IAF

Sounds like good news to me.

( It defies all logic, why a country with so much financial resources cannot do the basic act of building an airforce !!! There is no common sense in their procurement processes at all - thankfully !!!! ).

Interesting if true - the IAF is being tight lipped about it, so it is something that hurt them so it is either this(or a Phalcon) or another "Special missions aircraft like SIGNIT", or a C-17 ( they have reported C-130 losses before openly ).

It could also be their Global Bombardier Global 5000 Signals intelligence platform ??!?!? that would also hurt alot and something they would want to keep quiet about also.

This is a list of all the "SIGNIT" platforms that India operates, and which you would expect to be operating in that area.

And their AEW&C..

So - take your pick of what they may have lost.

This is it, even now, if they sign today, as in literally today, they wont get a new plane till 2030. If Tejas clown show continues too.

Realistically any new deal will be negotiated over 1-2 years now, that means contract signature in 2028 (If they are lucky!), so new new planes till 2032-2033

By then Jaguar fleet will be 56-57 years old. Mirage2K/MIG-29 fleet will be 50 years old. SU-30MKI fleet (their youngest!) will be 40 years old.

This block obsolesence will effect approx 400 fighter jets.

Even assuming the 80 SU-30 gets an upgrade, still looking at needing to replace 320 planes. Almost at once.

Tejas will not do it and Tejas MK2 is 10 years out, 2035 if lucky, more like 2040.

I think this actually may be the reason PAF is not panicking

Update: As per some western media and posts on social media even some Pakistani channels reported that Indian air defense system in Kashmir Shot down their own jet possibly Su-30 or AWAC aircraft. This crash happen near Kishtuwar region of Kashmir.

IAF denied 2 awacs shot fown so i think 2 awacs crashed in kishtwar.

Why?

IAF denied 2 awacs shot fown so i think 2 awacs crashed in kishtwar.

Losing 1 AWEW&C to a self kill. 2 would be impossible.

But - this being the Indian Armed Forces, anything is possible.

I await for clarification on these even with "keen interest" :)
