Indian Air Force News and Discussions ll

Induction of Tejas Mk1A & Rafale will give much needed timeline cushion for development and steady induction of Tejas Mk2 & AMCA

That was always the plan

Tejas replaced mig21
Rafale replacing mirage 2000 and Jaguar
Imo Su57 mark 2 version will replace earlier su30mki models beginning 2030 IE those not upgraded to super Mki

Tejas mark 2 and Amca will be fighters that arrive 2035 onwards almost in tandem to get India the 50 plus squadrons they always wanted probably about the time Indian gdp hits the magical 10 trillion dollars mark

I am confused

Is this the "Final, final, final, final approval" or just the "Final, final, final approval"?

Call it Indian red tape or french process in setting up the deal
It's 36 billion dollars buddy
The sought of money most nations have never seen

Looks like the deal is to be signed after RFP issue next month

AP Singh air chief and Modi in Paris in June

36 billion dollars deal

Not sure if Rafale F5 neuron is included

License manufacturer Nagpur
Private industry partner involved not Hal

It's much need sooner the better

Thats not how procurement programmes work. Once the "RFP" has been issued, the vendors will need to provide their formal "proposal or bid" to the RFP itself.

All India has done is "agree" on what "they want". Dassault have not agreed to those terms, and have not provided a formal response yet....

This is the ultimate "hopium".

Tejas is coming Yasser despite your best wishes that it finishes
As is Rafale as well

Are they still grounded or have they been approved for notional usage

The tejas will feel like asking for a PlayStation 3 for your birthday, waiting years and then by the time you get it everyone else has a PlayStation 4, I don't know why but that just seems like the appropriate analogy

IAF targets for squadron size are the same as Pakistani FBR tax revenue targets. Designed to be missed…….

Any news on what Indian jet crashed in IIOJK a few weeks back? Word was some EW platform, or C-17, ie something sensitive ?! Not seen a follow up - unless I missed it.

Insane if true, Jags will be the new MIG-21 Widowmaker....

Not sure about the widowmaker term but the attrition of Jaguars in IAF service makes depressing figures.
Over 60 already lost from 160 odd received or built by India !
