@UKBengali I just cannot see trade recovering anytime soon.
It will definitely not grow much between the two countries.
It was on a trajectory to grow by double digits each year.
Bangladesh will definitely diversify even if it harms the economy.
I do not think either country can replace the lost trade.
India’s b-grade industrial goods cannot be exported to richer countries.
And Bangladeshi goods currently going to India has no alternate takers either.
IT IS A LOSE, lose, situation for both.
India as a whole can brush it off but it will have a devastating impact on the bordering states.
It’s a bit like the U.K. Brexit situation!
