when the 2 x rafales and 2 x Su-30MKI were on CAP and with all system running specially Spectra EW suite. why PAF took the risk of Sending F-16s and JF-17C Block III. no J10CE.

it was bothering till i remember something - we at PDF broke the story from Arab news regarding Rafale Induction and Training of Crews at Qatar AF in 2016. there was a sentence regarding Pakistani crews been trained on it.

it caused huge hoohaaa in India and it even force the French Ambassador to comment a denial. nothing like that has happened that thread became news.So essentially Rafale was compromised at the time of Induction.

if i remember correctly that thread was on the Old PDF. may be accessible. today i find it amusing and yet amazing. i think that was the first time PDF was properly known in military circles.

in end we they thought the news was wrong and today i believe that news was correct.

we have some serious thinktank like ability!

For sure flying J-10C and JF-17 against Rafale in Qatar has come in very handy I imagine.

We have a lot to thank the Qataris for, and there military would love to see the Indians get a punch after the Israel/India spy scandal

Read it repeatedly, my dear eastern neighbours.

Pakistan is the one true successor state to the Indus Valley Civilisation. India is a deluded and false claimant.

Pakistan needs to set the consequences very severe of implicating Pakistan as a form of global humiliation and slander, so that they never try this again.

Next time they try to blame Pakistan, immediately pre-emptively strike them.

Why not this time?

Given the amount of contempt Trump administration has for anyone other than the US and how they are bashing every big or mall country (even India on trade imbalances), Pakistan seems to be suspiciously immune until now, infact Pakistan is the the only country having been praised by Trump, somehow.

Hard to say why Trump appears even neutral about Pakistan. I don't think Pakistan nabbing that terrorist from Afghanistan and handing it over to America was such a huge deal: Pakistan has been doing such things for decades; remember some terrorist (something like Ramzi?) nabbed and sent to America as far back as the 90s. Also the issue of American left-over weapons in Afghanistan sent back to America is impractical.

Maybe because there is Pakistan's natural resources / minerals exploration potentials but those resources have been so hyped up for decades that I don't know if they are a factor. But the way Trump praised Pakistan's help in nabbing that terrorist, plus allowing $300+ million of aid to keep the Pakistani F-16 maintained, plus Rubio's call to Pakistan to discuss the minerals explorations, plus the recent neutrality over the Pahalgam attack all suggest some warming of relations between Pakistan and America. One could argue that Trump has a lot on his plate and doesn't want to deal with India-Pakistan issues, but Americans had often dealt with Pakistan through Under Sec. of State in the past to engage with whatever little policy they had for Pakistan. This time there is definitely some positive intent dealing with Pakistan.

The Qatari Rafales share several similarities with the Indian aircraft, notably the RBE 2 active radar, the Spectra electronic warfare (EW) system, and the vaunted long-range Meteor air-to-air and SCALP ground attack missiles. Now, while pilots are not taught the complete physics of jamming that the Spectra system would use, trained pilots would know what modes to use and how. This would allow the pilot to extrapolate the full range of the jet’s passive and active capabilities. Given the state of ongoing tension between Qatar and its neighbours, these Pakistani pilots will also possibly have the opportunity to size up the Rafale against the F-16 of the UAE’s air force. Tellingly, this F-16 versus Rafale combo is exactly the combat scenario on the India-Pakistan front as well. So, while the EW systems won’t be compromised, the Rafale’s capabilities will become known to the Pakistan Air Force.
The radar, however, is a different story altogether, and it is safe to say that it now stands almost entirely compromised, not in that it can be jammed, but rather in what it can do. Any training will explore the maximum possible capacities of all systems including radars. This would include the maximum range, the resolution, the nature and calibre of information and data sharing between Rafales, the tactical tricks it uses in the radar spectrum and its strengths and weaknesses. They will also learn what the maximum flight covers, and the tracking and detection capabilities of a whole host of mated missiles such as the Meteor, SCALP and Mica as well as the tricks associated with their launch.

For example, the Rafale’s RBE 2 radar does not have a two-way link with the Meteor (that is to say, the Rafale can feed information to the missile, but the missile cannot feed information back to the plane). This means that even after firing the missile, the Rafale jet has to keep flying and track the target till the much smaller radar on the missile’s nose detects the target. Knowledge of the time and distance gap between how far the Rafale has to follow the Meteor before it can break off the attack and allow the missile to take over is critical information that could help evolve a set of viable tactics to counter the Meteor-Rafale combination.

Given that India’s purchase of the Rafale was to overcome the shortcomings of the Sukhoi, specifically the range required to reach the Chinese Eastern Seaboard, it is safe to assume that the range of the Rafale, in all possible configurations, is now known to the Pakistanis who will duly pass it on to the Chinese.

The French ambassador to India has now dismissed the report that Pakistan pilots flew the Rafale as “fake news”. He has, however, not provided any further clarifications as to what exactly is fake about the report. After all, why would a disinterested reporter, clearly working off an official Qatari and Dassault Aviation briefing in February, well before the current India-Pakistan tensions, simply drag ‘Pakistani pilots’ into his story?

The truth is easy to corroborate, all the ambassador needs to do now is show us the CCTV footage of the pilots involved in training, passports and the training logbooks. Yet, these reports are not new. We have a report from as early as 2016 stating that Qatar would send Pakistani pilots to train in Paris. Merely stating “this is fake news” is not going to fly as supplementary details have to be provided.

Furthermore....

At the same time, the biggest surprise for me in all of this, is that India suddenly seems very handicapped diplomatically, this time. I fully expected them to have at least 70% of the world condemning Pakistan by name, the way India went on offensive. and mind you, as a Pakistani even I have always accepted India's diplomatic reach, there has never been a doubt about it. But for the first time India seems to be having a diplomatic failure given the way nobody's ready to even name Pakistan in any statement. Even in this rare case of Vance, he is not blaming Pakistan or its Govt as being involved, but very politely asking Pakistan to look into any terror groups that might be operating, and help India with it. That's as light a statement as one can give.

Even during early days of Pehalgam, I had to do google searches for BBC/CNN/WP/Arabnews articles about Pehelgam because they were all in corners below most of the other everyday news articles.

Either India has just overplayed the Pakistan card too much and everyone is fed up of it or maybe Pakistan might be more important to the world than we Pakistanis think we are lol.

Even now USA is following similar strategy as in early 2000 when they approved F-16 and advance Amraam missiles to keep strategic parity between Pak-India because alternative was nuclear war. This is why they recently approved $400m to maintain F16.

China war toys have become good enough so Pakistan doesn't have to depend on USA/west. West can sell India war toys in larger number then Pakistan would ever buy. End result is strategic parity is maintained without wester weapons.

India delusions don't align with world powers as they rather not take risk of nuclear war.

1. Crippling sanctions on Pakistan.

2. USA magically take out Pak nukes as it disintegrates.

Instead of dreaming ridiculous scenarios, India need to stop proxy terrorism against Pakistan. Drop idea of turning IoK in to gangu settler colony.
