The fundamental principle of the Partition of the British India was along religious divides, which had become irreversible by the 1940s, much like what happened in the former Yugoslavia. But in case of the British India, while there may have been many 'Princely States' after the fall of the Moghul Empire, those states were basically overlords, bribed or implanted by the ruling Brits and the overlords ruled against the wishes of their subjects. Muslim rulers over Hindu majority regions, such as Junagadh and Indian Hyderabad or Hindu rulers like the Maharaja in Muslim majority region like Kashmir.
By the 1940s, such overlordship was unsustainable. But Nehru, to satisfy his ego, clung onto Kashmir and the result is the tragedy of the last 8 decades.

Pravin is only Indian expert who actually know about warfare capabilities of both countries . He warned them in 2019 and they didnt listen so Balakot happened.
