However importantly the biggest contributor to US finance has been the GCC especially in AI investments. Iran is doing damage to that funding and hurting the petrodollar at the same time. There might not even be a petrodollar after all this anyways.

The old money donors of the GOP are the families of the original architects of the petro-dollar empire, and they know that China is the master of all green high tech, and they don't stand a chance to compete against China in the green technology domain. Even China might control the future, the old money still doesn't want to lose their current portfolio of controlling a fossil fuel derived economy.

The democrats are always the weaker domestic political rival of the GOP, since the GOP controls the petro-dollar, and the democrats can only unite all minorities and high tech new money to have the new green high tech to dismantle the systemic leverage of the powerful old money lobbyists.

Unfortunately, the green high tech has been completely dominated by China, and the democrats cannot leverage this future tech asset to defeat the GOP.

That's why the democrats are willing sometime to cooperate with China in the renewable energy, because they want to steal China's high tech and use it to nurture the US green ecosystem.

In the worldwide, they can compete against China in a duopoly match.

In the domestic market, they can dismantle the petrostate controlled by the old money behind the GOP in order to become the true ruler of the US, not just a weaker/controlled opposition.
