Agni 4. They tested agni 3 few months back so most likely agni 4 this time.

For all practical purposes Agni 2,3,4 and 5 IRBMs are enough for detterence.

Agni 6 will be overkill for our needs. Not that the capability hurts though.

We do have the capability, but dunno about the political ramifications of such a move. The US might will a fuss, EU? Maybe. China yes, it was China which stated that Agni 5s actual range is around 8000km and not 5k as India claims.

Agni 6 with 10000 km will be a show of power, but show of power to whom and why? I think that's the question. Presently the western powers are not a threat to us.

But as a show of sovereignty and independent detterence I do support the move.

It was needed and it won't hinder project kusha since IAF is already committed for 10 squadron of project kusha. 10 squadron of s400 and 10 squadron of project Kusha is solid combination

And if they have any plans for S500 then they better drop it, we don't need s500

HSTDV was for demonstration, it turned into ET-LDHCM (actually missile)

ET-LDCHM was also reportedly tested last year but no official statement was given similarly to first and third test of LR-AShM which was never officially admitted.

Yes this is the very test I'm referring to. It'll be over a decade before these just started flight tests are ready for service HCM. It depends how mature this revealed testing is though. Could be extremely mature already or much more preliminary or even reveal complete rethinking required. I don't actually believe scramjet is the challenge. It is the entire kill chain and preserving the kill chain during war that's the real challenge of HGV and HCM.

Anyway topic to LRAShM. Glider or not or somewhere on the spectrum, the impressive part of any "hypersonic weapon" that isn't a ballistic missile is the kill chain.

That's because Brahmos 2 was intended a long time ago to just be Zircon export for India.

Either Russia refused to sell for whatever reasons (maybe they need all the numbers they can produce) or India reviewed it and found it lacking which is what I suspect.

I have seen many videos and the missile took some very sharp turns, do you think it might be Dhvani (HGV)
