There was no downplaying. He merely stated facts. One incident against starveling Somali pirates does not amount to battle-hardening. I was not interested in defending him. I was horrified at the arrogance of some Indian posters. What were you trying to do, make laughing stocks of us?

You continue to have difficulties with understanding what is written to you.

Instead of looking at the bad posts made by others, and judging them, you should look at the bad posts you have made, and correct yourself.

They looked pretty healthy to me when brought here. Getting good ransom I guess.
Also some pirate squads are equipped with frickin .50 cal . we've used multiple assets and platforms to conduct the whole raid. Some acts might be over the top , still we got to assess the combined ops of our assets in high sea. I see it good combat experience even if it went without bloodshed.

A good exercise, and I have defended it, although the question might be asked why our ships do not have an infantry component equivalent to the Royal Marines. Taking that as a given, that we are what we are, we used our Air Force in excellent coordination with the Navy.

Did I not defend that at every opportunity? Or were you sleeping?

My objection is to using silly terms like battle hardened. That is a term that will make every other nation's members laugh at us.

It is not about the mechanics of the incident.

It is about our - Indian civilians' - reactions.

It is about our exaggerated descriptions, our use of the expression battle-hardened.

We have spent enough time on this issue of over-vaulting language and the impression it makes on others.
