@Guru Dutt

would you people make comment on this thread? here, the news of around 50,000 scholarships for African students, post#24, looks good :)

the yearly scholarships for countries like Afghan-Nepal-FIji etc, is also a good contribution from Indian government :coffee:
well its good for giving scholarships to students from african nations or nepal but not very anthosiastic or think it is great idea giving the same to students from any muslim nation in south asia

Chill it has nothing to do with the MAGA vs H1B debate

I asked a 35-year-old unemployed youth standing at the village's paan shop, "Why don't you do something productive and earn? You spend the whole day drinking and spitting out Rajshree (a brand of tobacco/pan masala)."

He replied, "It's my choice."

I asked, "Are you married?"
He said, "Yes."

I asked, "How did you get married?" He said, "I got 30,000 rupees from the Chief Minister's Adarsh Vivah Yojana (a government scheme) and 2,50,000 rupees from the Antyodaya Kanya Vivah Yojana (another government scheme)."

I asked, "Don't you need to work for your children?" He said, "Delivery is free under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (a government scheme), and I get 1,500 rupees and 20,000 rupees under the Bhagini Prasuti Yojana (another government scheme)." My wife, Mother and daughter all get Rs 1500 pm under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behen Yojana.

I asked, "What about your children's education?" He said, "Everything is free for them - education, uniforms, books, and food. And under the Chief Minister's Naulnihaal and Medhavi Chhatravriti Yojana (government schemes), they get money every year."

I asked, "How do you run your household?" He said, "My younger daughter got a cycle from the government. My son got a laptop. My parents get old-age pension, and we get rice for 1 rupee per kilo for the whole month."

I asked, "Don't you need to work for your parents' pilgrimage?" He said, "I've sent them under the Chief Minister's Teerth Yatra Yojana (government scheme)."

I asked, "At least work for their medical treatment?" He said, "I have an Ayushman card, so I get free treatment up to 5 lakhs."

I asked, "What about their funeral expenses?" He said, "There's a 1-rupee electric crematorium."

I asked, "Don't you need to work for your children's marriage?" He smiled and said, "It'll happen the same way I did."

He continued, "You and lakhs of people like you work and pay taxes for us. Farmers work hard to produce grains, and the government buys them and gives them to us for free. So why should we work?"

Regards

Are you inviting the Mughals back?

Should've thrown in a bit about free eggs for school children.

sigh* .. I still miss our bhix :(

Fact:
Only under Mughal rule has India been the largest economy in the world, surpassing the Qing dynasty in China and all of western Europe. During this period (17th century) India accounted for almost 25% of the world's manufacturing output.

True

Also, we see a big map of Maratha for the year 1760+, post#12.
It was also the time when India was the largest economy of world, by the years 1700s, upto The year 1800 🕳️

anything wrong with that?
also do not forget this 'history' takes into account a tiny window into time when it comes to ancient lands such as India

In fact, this is incorrect on two counts.

First, there were portions of history when India, hypothetically, according to the reconstruction of World GDP that we are all referring to, was even better off.

Second, after Aurangzeb, the national economy declined, not in a catastrophic manner, but visibly; with the coming to power of the British, with the defeat of the Maratha Confederacy piece-meal, and the reduction of Shivaji's descendants to two minor Maharajas, and the abject surrender of the Nizam, and the Nawab of Oudh, the economy began to decline very rapidly, running from the periodical peak under Aurangzeb to a meagre 2% of the world figure by 1947.

India's progress from 1947 is flawed only by a horribly bad GINI coefficient, but apart from this heart-breaking figure, to be potentially the world's fourth largest economy by 2026 is not a trivial thing.

Why this insecurity? I'm simply listing facts.

History is history. The unipolar moment is a mere blip in time but it will remain a historical fact.
Or are you discounting perhaps the pinnacle of Indian history due to Muslim leadership?

@Snake - that was actually my question that you're asking. Why did you highlight that it was during the mughals? perhaps you're proud of it because it was during mughal. (I will overlook your reference to mughals as muslim leadership for now).

As to the history part, I will just let you think abt it somemore and I'm sure it will come to you. hint: MTD is not YTD is not DTD is not CTD is not MTD...

I'm mentioning it because it was during the mughals. If I said something incorrect be sure to point it out. This type of conversation reduces the quality of the thread. ✌️

@Snake

One precept I carried away from that brilliant list SilkList was
  • Assume goodwill
We really don't need to search for inner meanings in every post that we read.
And just in case you were wondering, my own defensive precept offered gratis to all of you reading my posts is
  • Do what I say, not what I do

@Snake @Joe Shearer - don't think there's any need to prolong and try to prove/disprove. Let's move on.

Any civilization (and IMO the landmass we call Greater India has had several of them) is going to have accomplishments to be proud of and failures to be ashamed of. We as the current living creatures have no reason to be proud of or ashamed about any of that.

I visited South Asia last year. I visited Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and India ending with Maldives. Then 6 months later I visited China, far east Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azeribaijan, Iran and Tajikistan.

I noticed one thing India´s infrastructure is beyond poor perhaps worst infrastructure and worse then mountainous Nepal. I was surprised by Bangladesh as having the best infrastructure in South Asia by a landslide most people have no idea how well Bangladesh is build.

Pakistan is second it has great roads and especially Islamabad is beautiful perhaps one of the most beautiful cities I have visited with the way nature and infrastructure is mixed.

But overall as soon as you enter from Indian border Pakistan surprises you it has good infrastructure in comparison. I was kind of surprised by even the tiny details such as the gas stations, motels, restuarants, large clean roads etc etc the Infrastructure is much better and everything was clean and people were extremely chill which adds to the beautiful nature and good infrastructure people arent in your face but they keep distance and just chill overall.

I was just like this guy when I entered Pakistan from India and the place I loved most was Baltistan it has many beautiful district and valley´s with gardens each one better then the other.

Because infra construction has a lot of regulation (bribery and bureaucracy) so no one wants to get into the industry.

India has many cows - cows shit on the street and footpaths multiple times a day. Pakistan and Bangladesh don't have that problem.

But that being said, the fact that you mentioned BD has great infra makes me doubt your entire post, you are most likely a Pakistani false flagger who wanted to brag about Islamabad and motorway(like it hasnt been done a million times before) and trash India, but you couldn't do it so obviously without looking like a dick, so instead you sugarcoated your post by appreciating BD, and then proceeded on to do what you actually wanted to do - trash India and brag about motorway, Islamabad etc etc, nice try.. but we can all see through that.:ROFLMAO:
