Indian Politics and Internal News

Difficult to reach in 4 years, but its definitely moving fast , infra growth in west UP is tremendous.

If UP grows India Grows !
UP is doing really well, without a doubt.

UP has the largest population of any state in India. If UP grows, it will have a big impact on India as a whole.

So, UP will be $1 trillion economy and rest of India will be only $4 trillion.

What does that say about rest of India?

It's 4.27 trillion now and we still have some more time on our hands
Our nominal GDP is estimated to grow by 9.6% in 2023-24, realistically 8%

But without any doubt we'll become third largest economy and touch 7 trillion dollars by 2030

BD should aim to reach the income levels of Gujarat and become a developed country by 2050.

If it can have some semi-decent stability after return of democracy that is quite realistic.
Yes but BD needs some pretty rapid industrialization!

And for it's stability BD should stick to a proper democratic form of government ,and never allow overthrow of another democratically elected govt!( Let's hope that the current overthrow of hasina doesn't become a tradition )
the coming years will be critical for the stability, and with war mongers on both sides BD might spend its precious resources on militarisation which will have detrimental effects on the growth projection

BD's textile sector and other exports like jute and footwear is hotly contested with both India and Pakistan ,one wrong move and the other will grab the fish

India will be around 6-7 Trillion by 2030, with UP alone somewhere around 700 billion USD.

More realistic targets.
How, when according to the IMF's October 2024 World Economic Outlook figures, Hindustan's Nominal GDP was $3.89 trillion against a national target set in 2019 as having a $5 trillion economy by 2024?

2007: Nominal GDP was $1.21 trillion
2014: Nominal GDP was $2.04 trillion
2021: Nominal GDP was $3.17 trillion
Oct. 2024: Nominal GDP $3.89 trillion

@Beijingwalker, not sure what's happened to China's economy. It has only grown by $514 billion in the last 4 years.

Indian politicians and verbal diarrhea are synonymous.

Neither India or Pakistan are anywhere near where BD is in terms of garments.

BD will keep moving up the garment value chain and China is anyway exiting the market as their labour costs are getting astronomical and there is only so much that machines can do.

Plenty of other industries like pharma, electronics and IT have been growing exports at twice the rate of garments over the last 15 years.

Garments share as total percentage of all exports(goods + services) is now below the 70% mark and it could fall to 50% by 2030 at the current rate of growth of non-garment sectors.

BD has one massive advantage over Indian states like Gurajat and Karnataka - it does not have to send billions every year to feed the BIMARU states.

Ambitious to catch up with states like Gujarat? Sure, as they have 50% higher GDP per capita now but anything is possible if BD can get a stable political system put in place.

BD needs to return to 7% GDP growth and then it can aim to become a developed country by 2050

Hindustan will add $3 trillion in less than 5-years?

Bihar’s current GDP is $120 billion (2023-24), with a growth rate of 15.5%. If this growth rate continues, Bihar’s GDP will reach $500 billion in approximately 9 years.
correct me if I am wrong; this is just a rough calculation.

Except that there is no proof of Bihar growing at anywhere even close to 15%.

It was supposed to be $5 trillion by 2025. Has that happened yet?

Its 4.27 Trillion right now, so expectation of 5 trillion is short by around 600 billion by the end of this fiscal.

Major issues were Covid led slowdown in world economy that revised the numbers otherwise the target was 10 Trillion by 2030.

7 trillion is reachable by 2030.
