#Trivia during the hijacking of MV Sinar Kudus in 2011, Indonesian government was considering an amphibious assault towards Somali coast if the hostages were taken ashore by the pirates. For this scenario, the task force that was sent to free the hostages carried 5 BMP-3F4 LG-1 MKII howitzer, 7 RHIB, 18 inflatable boats, and 1 Bell-412

Fortunately the amphibious assault never happened since the task force managed to free the hostages while they're still on board Sinar Kudus. The operation itself involved ± 1.000 personnel from all 3 branches

Footage shows Indonesian Federal troops landing at Korowai Airport, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua, on February 11th.

The operation focused on recovering the bodies of the pilot and co-pilot of a Smart Air plane, who were killed earlier by West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) militants.

The airplane had been shot at immediately after landing. The pilot and co-pilot tried to escape into a nearby forest, but they were captured and killed on video by the militants, who accused them of being Indonesian intelligence agents.

Three Indonesian peacekeepers serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were honored in a repatriation ceremony at Beirut airport on Thursday, with officials paying tribute and offering condolences.

Brigadier General Firas Tarchichi, representing the defense minister and the Lebanese army said “any attack against UNIFIL “is a direct attack on Lebanon’s security” and is firmly rejected by the Lebanese people.

Speaking to reporters in New York, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said another peacekeeper was wounded in the shoulder Thursday.

He also called on Israel to remove a flag illegally raised near a peacekeeping position in South Lebanon, warning that it “undermines the perception of UNIFIL’s impartiality and risks drawing fire toward peacekeepers.”

JCET 2026 Exercise Concludes, Interoperability Between Indonesia’s Satbravo 90 and US Special Forces Strengthens​

JAKARTA — Interoperability between Indonesia’s Satbravo 90 Pasgat and the United States Army’s Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (SFOD-A) 1234 has further strengthened following the completion of the joint exercise Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Balance Arrow Iron 2026, held from April 17 to May 15, 2026.

Through various tactical training modules and operational scenarios, special forces personnel from both countries enhanced their operational capabilities while also strengthening military cooperation between Indonesia and the United States.

The exercise also reflected the implementation of the Indonesian Air Force’s “AMPUH” values, which stand for Adaptive, Modern, Professional, Superior, and Humanist.

The training series concluded with a Field Training Exercise (FTX) closing ceremony at the Korps Pasukan Gerak Cepat Training Area in Balegede, Cianjur, West Java, on May 15, 2026.

The ceremony was led by Exercise Director Major Pas Kurniawan Adi Subakti and accompanied by CPT Nathaniel L. Meidl.

“The various training materials and scenarios were considered effective in enhancing operational experience exchange while strengthening the professional relationship between the two units,” Kurniawan said, as quoted in a statement from the Indonesian Air Force Information Service.

CPT Nathaniel L. Meidl also expressed appreciation for the exercise and hoped similar cooperation would continue in the future to further improve the operational capabilities and readiness of both units.
