My takeaways from today's background security briefing in Rawalpindi:India cannot stop Pakistan's water. Period.

New Delhi knew Pakistan's nuclear doctrines. India is likely to face increasing regional isolation in the years ahead. While in the emerging regional order, India space is expected to shrink.

The fragmentation of India is viewed by some within the Pakistani establishment as only a matter of time.The façade of secularism is expected to erode further, with majoritarian ideology - Hindutva - increasingly shaping the India political and social landscape.

India's persistent obsession with Pakistan reflects deeper internal insecurities and exposes the fragility of the narrative on which its strategic posture rests.The Pakistani security establishment believes that India, in its present form, is not a sustainable political entity, arguing that its unnatural rests on an artificial construct reinforced by a deeply entrenched caste-based social order.

India remains at odds with all of its immediate neighbours and continues to face border disputes across the region.Another showdown between India and Pakistan is more likely.Pakistan has become truely a hard state..

Chinese scholar and political analyst Victor Gao has weighed in on the India-Pakistan Indus water dispute, arguing that India is "not exactly" the upstream country because the Indus River and many of its tributaries originate in the Himalayas.
Gao also warned against using water as a tool of political pressure, saying countries should not do unto others what they would not want done to themselves.

This Pakistani British Hydrology expert think that it is not technically possible for India to block much of Pakistan's water and the threat is over blown..........

They can't stop 100% of water thats not a point. But if tunnel on Chenab steal even 1% of water then thats a act of war. Also remember India will try to steal as much water as possible in lean phase of December-April. They can do lot more then tunnels on Chenab. On indus and jhelum, it will be difficult so they will focus on Chenab.

These experts are of no good unfortunately. Pakistan will need to make it clear that Indian dam on ravi and satluj/beas will survive if they go ahead on Chenab tunnel project.

Moronic statement. The existence of dams is not the "stealing" of water. Even the IWT itself speaks extensively of India utilising hydroelectric technology for its own benefit on rivers flowing into Pakistan.

Nobody ever had a problem with Indian dams per se. It is violation of a treaty that is the problem.
