Iran cannot fight everyone at once. There is good logic behind divide and conquer and taking out the weaker links first. Israel did this by attacking Hamas and Hezbollah and overthrowing Assad in Syria first before attacking Iran.

Israel is a much tougher opponent than U.S. bases in countries closer to Iran. The risk reward ratio is not worth it right now.

Its like watching water hit boiling point and then to cool the temperature so it falls, we seem to be going through this cycle with trump with the markets. At this stage it doesnt feel a ceasefire is worth having with the US as trump will break it again in a few weeks. The US will need to be inflicted higher costs to not want to return to a very painful position if deterrence is to be established, otherwise this is a slow grind down of Irans capabilities, economy and society - trump will keep this up till 2028.
