Its hard to tell, but my strong sense is that Israel is only interception probably 40-60% of all projectiles being fired at it from Iran and currently. From videos we are seeing, i do not believe 80-85% interception rate that Israel lied about is true. The level of damage on the ground in Israel looks more than a 10-15% landing rate for projectiles.

Their 'needs' are their needs. But they are impractical for a very long time. I don't think having expensive fighter jets are really an option for Iran. But they were wise enough to have invested heavily in some very powerful missile. They need to protect those missiles and their infra with the most potent air defense system they can acquire.
Pakistan is a very special case of fighter jets success against India where an entire ecosystem is developed specifically for India. There can't be a comparison with Iran.

I see your points but thing is that such force is not expensive as it used to be if you projected it around chinese airplanes, i dare to say it is actually best ratio possible between invested/returned speaking in military terms.

Why do they announce the number and the time of their attack?

I think the IRGC is making these announcements for three reasons:

1) Assuring the Iranian people that their armed forces are attacking the enemy;

2) imposing psychological fear on the enemy and their people. Imagine the fear that those hypersonic missiles will be imposing on the Israelis;

3) Signaling to the Israeli military and political leaders and their backers that Iran is upping the ante and Zion will have a long and nightmare tonight.

I think these threats backed by missile assaults are working. Afterall, threats backed by brute force are part of war.
