Iran's failure to intercept Israeli aircraft marks a critical turning point — it signals that Iran is not yet capable of confronting the U.S. or defending its Fodrow nuclear site.

Reports suggest the U.S. has issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Iran to come to the table, warning that failure to comply will result in a strike on Fodrow using bunker-busting bombs.

Part of me hopes Iran accepts the deal — to live and fight another day.

But realistically, the chance to fight another day may never come. Iran would be severely weakened and likely face further aggression or even invasion.

This war is shaping Iran's future place in global geopolitics. I pray its leaders make the right decision.

The Chinese people, in truth, oppose the current actions of the United States from the bottom of their hearts—not merely out of national interest or anti-American sentiment. As a result, they are doing their utmost to avoid becoming the next United States. This is a matter of worldview. In fact, I see it as a positive sign: it suggests that a country with imperial capabilities still harbors an aversion to becoming the next imperialist power.

However, I believe the Chinese are beginning to recognize the harsh realities of the world. From the India–Pakistan conflict, we can see increasingly direct and assertive voices emerging from both the Chinese government and the public. The unexpected decision to sell the J-35A (which surprised many Chinese) also reflects a shift—suggesting that China’s future diplomatic strategy is poised to become more proactive.

As for Iran, given that China's power cannot extend there in the short term—and considering Iran's many internal and external complexities—I believe Iran will still need to stand on its own for some time. Only after China gradually gains a clearer understanding of the situation might it intervene, whether openly or behind the scenes. As a Chinese saying goes: "God helps those who help themselves." If a people demonstrate a firm will to resist, help will naturally come.

Agreed fully, as many have been saying here there is nothing much China can do right now. What is done in the first day of war, is done. Now nothing can be done in terms of airspace or air defense. Iran will have to stand on their own here.

Though we are seeing a big jump in Iran's EW capabilities since last 2 days. That is something that also gave Pakistan a big edge. So hopefully that is an area where Iran can really disrupt Israel, given that Iran has no assets of its own in the air, they can freely disable anything that touches their airspace without worrying for any collateral damage. hopefully that is something China can really help with, to tone down some of Iran's damages in key areas.

I’ve avoiding posting in this thread because I know this topic is deeply emotional and complex.

That said, I want to express how unfortunate it is that we live in a world where some countries—like Israel—are allowed to possess nuclear weapons with the backing of powerful allies, while others are condemned for seeking similar capabilities.

I believe Iran, like any sovereign nation, has the right to defend its borders. However, I also believe that its focus should shift inward—toward its people, economy, and long-term stability—rather than engaging in activities across the region or supporting non-state actors.

North Korea is another extreme example. While their internal governance may be harsh, they avoid involvement in external conflicts, which has arguably helped them survive geopolitically.

I feel deeply for the people on all sides who are suffering. But it’s especially painful to see how much Iranians are bearing. They don’t deserve this.

My only hope is that going forward, Iran can move toward a path of development, peace, and freedom from sanctions. A stable, thriving Iran would benefit not just its own people, but the entire region. Iran is a culturally and resource-rich nation with enormous untapped potential—we just haven’t been able to see that potential fully realized.

Iran can't win the war but we can hope for the best in the future.

The biggest culprit in the world today is the USA. It’s disheartening to see global politics used as a game of strategy while ordinary citizens in many countries pay the price. The USA cannot be trusted because their leaders only care about their dirty goals, not the human lives.

I don't have a good feeling Asim being in the US alone for that long. I am afraid he will crumble under pressure like Musharraf and create another insurgent problem on our Baluchistan front like Musharraf did in KPK and tribal areas.

For what it's worth, FM/AM is said to be a Shia. That may (or may not) make him a bit more acceptable to Iran and may allow him to mediate between the US and Iran.

I believe most people here agree that Iran has the capability to confront Israel, especially through its ballistic missile arsenal and geographic depth.

However, the equation changes significantly with the involvement of the United States. Realistically, it becomes nearly impossible. The U.S. could devastate Iran without even needing to launch a ground invasion- through sustained airstrikes alone, and by targeting key leadership figures like Khamenei. The latter is going to cause massive chaos in Iran.
