I Believe lesson learned.

Lesson learned by who, Iran? I don't think so, if they survive this bout of crisis they will again go back to their old ways. They won't go for nukes, they won't pursue genuine alliance, they will continue with the opportunism. Basically, they feel they can be smart arse about everything and get the benefits from everywhere and even as far as playing the west with their nuclear card without ever getting nukes. There is no cure for this kind of "smart assery".

The Chinese (and all east Asian nations) are very smart people. That lady who posted this on X has accurately described Iran's character, which I have noticed for a long time but couldn't have written it the way she did even if my life depended on it.

I think India’s decision not to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in condemning Israel’s unprovoked attack was a serious mistake. Even if India was concerned about its ties with Israel, it could’ve asked for a softer or more neutral wording.

But in this case, a non-member of the SCO attacked a member — and not just any member, but one India had just signed an "all-weather strategic partnership" with. This move undermines India’s diplomatic credibility. Even the Israelis might not appreciate a friend who abandons their own partners so easily.

Are SCO members really India’s 'partners' though?

India didn’t join the SCO because we’re all best friends. It was more about keeping a seat at the table for regional issues, not because we see the world the same way as China, Russia, or Iran. Calling them strategic partners is a bit of a stretch, especially when half of them have their own problems with us.

And as for Israel, not signing a statement isn’t the same as backing the attack. Sometimes in diplomacy, staying quiet says more than picking a side. We’ve always valued strategic independence, and that’s what gives us credibility.

Might is right bro. This is why I said if Iran didn't have the nukes or military capability to defend itself then it was better for Iran interest to carefully decide its foreign policy. Yes they took the path of confronting the devil and standing with the truth, we cannot point fingers at Iran for standing with the truth but from a military point of view it may have been better to arm itself enough to be able to defend.

An unstable Iran will become a nightmare for us. We already have an unstable neighbor in the west. How's that working out for us?

It is in our interests to keep a stable Iran as a buffer between us and the rest of the Middle East including Israel. It is also payback time for all the help Israel has been providing to India militarily.

A successful installation of a new govt in Iran will be very, very unlikely. Israelies themselves do not believe it will work. The current Govt is an ideological one and Iranians fought to have it. In other countries where the US toppled governments previously, the rulers are unpopular and new ones are installed via mock elections.

In this case neither is the govt (that) unpopular (despite all Western claims), nor will their followers accept a new Govt brought in through any means. The final nail in the coffin is that any new govt will inherit Israeli legacy (in the mind of Iranians), including Gaza Genocide and the current war against Iran. Maybe a small section of Iranian society will be okay with it, but a vast majority will hate them absolutely. On top of it, Pakistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, India, China, Arab States, US, all will pull and push for their own interests. Pakistan's concern will not be Baluchistan only, but also other areas that border Afghanistan.

With best hopes for Iranian brothers, that it never comes to that .. I cannot even start to imagine how much of a mess US will be making if they start this. Maybe that is why Trump wants nothing of this, in the first place.

As usual, another Chinese person who is overly humble and cautious. There is a time and place for it, now isn't it.

Look, China is already helping Iran. It isn't waiting around. There has been repetitive flights of supply planes with transponders shut off flying into Iran. We don't know what they are carrying. If anything, Iran might already be using radars, air defense missiles assembling missile parts together. I think the Chinese govt. understand the existential nature of this war and if Iran falls, it will deeply hurt China. So they are already acting on it, but doing it quietly as usual.

If IDAF has established air superiority over Iran, why aren't they shooting down these supply planes from China?

No, they are not terrified at China, otherwise countries like Filipin and Vietnam wouldn't dare to challenge and provoke China's rights over those islands in SCS. They think China is like a giant panda without Kung Fu skills. China hasn't fought a war for more than 45 years and keeps talking of a peaceful world, that might be a problem.
