China sent over 2 million troops during the Korean War, and later supported North Vietnam with 320,000 troops during the U.S. invasion. That’s one of the reasons why the U.S. has always been cautious about engaging in direct military conflict with China.read the Chinese intervention during Korean War that was brutal .
Thing is China doesn’t like unnecessary wars that doesn’t endanger mainland .
We’re very careful when it comes to military actions — but once it’s decided that vital interests must be defended, the scale can be far beyond what anyone expects.
What’s interesting is how different China’s neighbors perceive this: some are terrified, thinking China is about to invade the whole world (like Japan, South Korea, Vietnam), while others complain that China isn’t aggressive enough. Quite the contrast.
