To be fair a huge part of Chinas population are also west worshippers and if the roles were reversed and Iran was the more advanced country, they’d probably not trust Iranian tech over western tech either

Iran is great at arming/funding/training non-asymmetric movements in the region. It can turn otherwise sloppy movements into real and respected players, pretty quickly.

It may have not prepared enough for a strike on its homefront. Or couldn't afford to. Even Egypt which has been preparing for decades may still have its airspace easily violated by Israel. Especially Sinai region where Israel could potentially establish air superiority.

It's really tough to be fully ready for home-front air defense—even Russia and the super-expensive idf struggle with it. Offensive flyers are advancing so fast that air defenses just can't keep up.
