They’ve been led to believe that Western style democracy is a suitable model for our region. But our nations have experimented with it, and it hasn’t produced meaningful results. Culturally and socially, we are fundamentally different from the West. While there’s certainly room for improvement in our current systems, the notion that Western democracy is some flawless blueprint is misleading. it’s largely superficial at this point.

I have to disagree here. We could have had a good democracy, but unfortunately, the west has done anything they can to meddle with our internal affairs. Had we done the same to them, they would have been in the same situation as us.

There is no relevance of a "western ally". European countries are just pawns that are aligned to either side of the more relevant nations.

There is USA, China and Russia. You are either allied with or against these countries. Any other European western nation as meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Iran needs to be given a serious diplomatic off-ramp by the US if the US wants to prevent setting the Middle East ablaze. This will not stop with any dreamed up "regime change" in Iran. Remember what happened with the power vacuums in Afg-Irq-Syria?

When will they learn - these are complex regions with complex power plays beneath the surface. A weakened Shia crescent will be a breeding ground for ISIS.
