Next 1/2 days will tell - but Iran will be making a mistake. All the signals show Iran is preparing to strike US interests in the Persian Gulf.

No need for extra bravado.....Israelis are searching for ceasefire.....

Prior to attack on Iranian nuclear facilities US sent a message to Iran saying that this attack must not be viewed as a declaration of war.

Also as satellite images show US gave time to Iran to evacuate HEU and advanced centrifuges from Fordow.

This was like Iran's strikes against Ain-Al-Assad when US did not respond to Iran's attack and here US expects Iran not to respond to their symbolic attack against empty nuclear facilities.

No negotiations possible after what US and Israel did.

Iran should rush toward a nuclear bomb as fast as possible and install evacuated IR-6 centrifuges at secret locations across the country and enrich its 408kg of HEU to 90%.

According to nonproliferation expert Jeffrey Lewis if Iran makes a rush to a bomb it will take Iran 150 days to build 10 nuclear bombs in current circumstances.

US options:

1) attack new smaller secret enrichment facilities - but US doesn't know the locations of those smaller secret enrichment sites and if we assume they are deep underground US can't attack them effectively due to lack of intelligence about those sites.

2) attack Iranian military infrastructure across the country - but then Iran will respond by attacking US bases in the region and this will escalate into a full-scale war with no clear goals and if Iran starts losing, it will have an option of targeting oil facilities of the region and this will lead to global economic disaster.

3) attack economic infrastructure of Iran - but in this case Iran will attack oil infrastructure of the region and this will lead to global economic disaster.

4) occupy Iran and topple the Iranian regime. But that is not possible because occupying Iran requires 3mln troops US doesn't have.

5) use nuclear weapons against Iran - but if US breaks the taboo and uses nuclear weapons against Iran this will open the pandora box and multiple countries of the world (Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, Egypt and others) will seek to develop their own nukes for protection against the US.

So if Iran makes a rush to a bomb, US can't bomb secret enrichment sites because it doesn't know where they are, US can't bomb Iran's military infrastructure because there is no clear goals for that and it risks escalation that can threaten oil facilities of the Gulf, US can't destroy Iran's economy because Iran will close the Strait of Hormuz and destroy US economy, US can't occupy Iran and topple its regime and US can't use nuclear weapons against Iran.

While making a rush to a bomb Iran should not even leave NPT, because NPT is just a legal formality that has no any meaning in times when US and Israel openly violate the so called "international law" by bombing nuclear facilities of Iran in an unprovoked act of aggression.

I agree. Israel should, in the interests of peace, offer something to Iran and its allies (I.e. the Palestinians and others).

If Israel is genuinely interested in some form of truth and reconciliation regarding its malevolent designs in the middle east since the early 20th Century, then I suspect Arabs, Iranians and others would at least hear what they have to say. Beyond that, it is up to the belligerent parties to determine an outcome that is fairest for them.

It could be very simple, but the hasbara makes it impossible.

At the moment, all you are observing over generations is constant Kevin Pietersen-esque switch-hitting by Mossad. Today they "support" arabs, tomorrow Iranians, today seculars, tomorrow ISIS, today the druze, tomorrow the kurds.

Do you see how Mossad works now? Eventually, Mossad's "ally-du-jours" turns against Mossad because it realises Israel is using it as a dalitised pawn. Then Mossad activates another asset against its former asset.

There is much that Israel and Israel's victims likewise need to take stock of and reflect on in order for any sort of solution to emerge from this. Some lifelong national habits will need to change in a number of countries. And the underlying truth of it all is that Israel needs to take the first step (and don't think that Israel herself does not know this!).

If it does not, the war will certainly be perpetual and generational, only with different opponents for Israel as old assets expire and new ones become deployed.

There is no US ground invasion of Iran coming. That is utterly ridiculous assumption. What can happen is the USAF joins the Israeli Air Force in turning large parts of Iran into Gaza. Thats the threat.

Only off ramp is surrendering Israel said it will bomb regardless of a ceasefire Iranian leadership will now be constantly killed off so what can they offer the Iranians at this point that will make the Iranians say ok that’s amazing will take it

I don't think US wants a ground invasion, but I have no doubt that it's what Iran and Israel want. At some point, if the war keeps escalating, a ground invasion will be inevitable.
