Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

"over Iran"? Israel claimed it achieved air superiority over certain 'corridors' into Iran, not over all of Iran. and they achieved that for 12 days after using a large number of covert assets in a surprise strike. they haven't proven the "repeatedly" part.
Because the Iranian Air Force is essentially non-existent.

This old man still living in the 1990's.........:p

Just a whole buncha huff n puff, no substance.

I've thought about putting him on ignore.
Narcissism.

Am not here to change your mind but to present facts and perspectives other than yours for the unknown number of silent readers out there. It does not matter if you 'ignore' me or not. If I quote you, it is because you said something wrong and/or stupid and I believe the many silent readers out there should know. So, 'ignore' me all you want. The silent readers out there does not care.

Am an Air Force guy, F-111 (Cold War) then F-16 (Desert Storm), and I will be honest but blunt -- that your argument is irrelevant.

The Israelis knows theirs and Iran's limitations. The next US administration may turn on them, so for now, they will exploit every advantage they can find. Together, the US and Israel set Iran's nuclear ambitions back in terms of years, not months, and within those years both can create additional blockages for Iran's future nuclear ambitions.

For example...How stable is the soil around those sites? Do YOU have any idea on how explosions weakens soil integrity that have been built up over centuries if not millenia? For all practical purposes, those sites are done.

What you are doing is satisfying personal grievances by pointing out Israelis flaws. Makes YOU feel better going to sleep at nights. That is not how the US and Israelis works. I know from personal experience that we, the US military, focuses more on our flaws than our strengths. The Israelis are no different.

Here is what I have been telling this forum since '09...

Air Dominance. The ability of an air force to compel other air forces to re-array themselves, and usually into subordinate postures.

Air Superiority. The ability of an air force to achieve control of contested airspace, repeatedly if necessary, and if there are losses, those losses would not pose a statistical deterrence to that ability.

Air Supremacy. He flies, he dies.

Israel has at least Air Superiority over Iran. Simple as that. And as long as Donald Trump is in office. In modern warfare, that is a loss, and given that Iran can do nothing, except to lob a few missiles, that is a humiliating posture.

Gambit, what you started by saying about "Air Dominance/Superiority/Supremacy" is correct however that is not something new !....Its like saying "its a clear day and the sky is blue !".

The questions that needs to be asked are first doctrinal, mandate and responsibilities and the overall aims that the political leadership assigns and hence the budget to an armed force of the country.

1 - Therefore, what is the doctrine of - in this case - the air force of IRI?
2 - What is the responsibility of the IRIAF?
3 - What is the budget of IRIAF?

You cannot conclude the outcomes of a pre-emptive, surprise, pre-planned strike on a particular place and time of choosing that is decided by the attacking side to evaluate the defenders.

Consider the above 3 question in regards to USAF/IsAF vs IRIAF and then conclude whether IRIAF fulfilled its mandate or not !

Best wishes !

Never said it was. But it is new to this forum back on '09 and continues to be 'new' to many who thinks they know something about air power and air forces.

The first mandate for an air force is to have control of domestic airspace when necessary. Budgetary constraints are NOT the problem of the attacking force. Neither is poor doctrine.

The US is unique in that the country is protected by two oceans. That means the US military was designed to be expeditionary. We are, and have always been, the 'Visitor' and not 'Home' team. Our collective combat experience have been %99 from overseas adventures. Not even the island country of Great Britain can claim that distinction because they have been invaded by France.

The Iranian military cannot afford to be expeditionary. Land powers rarely do. That means the Iranian Air Force first priority is sovereign airspace. And they failed.

Yous fulla shit. No mofo out there in Iran ever seen an IDF plane fly overhead.......And every mofo got a cellphone today no?

Iraan fukkin made you shit dogs swallow 600 missiles and an equal number of drones.

You couldn't stop jack shit old man.......

And Trump fukkin rang up da Ayatollah two days prior that staged B-2 bullshit Broadway theater........to clear out.......What damage? Those sites were marked as targets for decades. You hit nothing! except empty buildings and long abandoned facilities.

You're lucky the Iranians didn't escalate this. There was no need to.

Now go hit the bottle........ol timer.

The next 3-5 weeks is extremely important for Iran.
By the end of August, we will know for sure where Iran is heading.

I believe the second round will start before October.
Probably in mid-September.

And the Ayatollahs are not ready for the second round.

Given the sunset provisions of the JCPOA, it was clear that if Iran did not surrender by October, bombing would commence.
And the situation has worsened. Seeing Iran's weakness, the U.S. and the E3 are now explicitly demanding unconditional surrender.
At this point, the Iranian leadership seems to believe they can avoid both fighting and surrendering by remaining ambiguous and slipping through. Apparently, the elderly leaders don’t even have the memory to recall the events of June.

The Iranian state seems to be preparing for this. They're very much cleaning the terrorist menace that handicapped both the Iranian air defense and the ballistic missile launches.

In my view, this ambiguity means Iran is hardening its position: No intention of giving its Uranium enrichment. To avoid UNSC sanctions, the IAEA may visit Iran but it doesn't look like Iran wants those IAEA inspectors (in reality, these are spies) back into the country.

The open war is over for now but its still continuing in the shadows. Explosions happen almost daily and of course the regime and its supporters blame it on 'gas leaks' or 'air defense training' and whatever else.

Nothing the IR has done in recent weeks has convinced me they have changed course. In fact they keep propping up the same outdated politicians while refusing to bring in fresh blood. They arree reshuffling some organs here and there but I seriously doubt it will make any real difference.

Personally i found the statement by Shadmanis daughter shocking. She claimed her father wasnt killed in an airstrike but was actually killed on the battlefield while being chased. If thats true then the situation is even worse than we imagined.

I believe the shadow war will keep going alongside economic isolation. No one knows when the open war will resume but i bet that Trump and Netanyahu are just waiting for the IR to make just one wrong move and they will all jump like a wild dog to 'finish" the job. In my opinion, that means the IR’s politicians are next. One by one they will be eliminated until the regime has a new face.

I estimate the chances of a popular uprising to be very low for many reasons. Its just not going to happen so Netanyahu will have to try other means to achieve his publicly stated goal of eliminating the IR’s missile and nuclear capabilities.
