There has to be some damage in Israel and casualties

Likely US soldiers killed already

And more citizens killed in neighboring Arab states than being told

But the first Iran wave of response is to exhaust defenses

U.S. troops are staying in civilian apartments, not bases.
The fighter jets have already been evacuated to civilian airports.
This is the West's standard tactic. They always use civilians as human shields to prevent the enemy from retaliating.
Iran cannot mount an effective counterattack unless it has the courage to target civilians.

Israel in June destroyed entire residential complexes in Tehran and slaughtered hundreds of civilians, the US hasn't done this (yet)

If Saudi Arabia is attacked it will put Pakistan in a difficult situation.

Both sides will see if the defence pact is worth the paper it is written on. Pak cannot attack Iran, so will mean we leave the Saudis to themselves.

Saudi and others will condemn the violation of their territory but they knew thos would happen and have been trying to stop it. IMO highly unlikely apart from missile defence, intelligence sharing, they will get involved in any other way.

Man I cannot help but admire Iran. Not saying it to your face only, but sincerely, it takes huge, huge courage to be getting attacked by 11 different countries + NATO (covertly), absorbing their attacks while still hitting back each of them casually with complete resolve.

For the first time in last 3 decades, someone is giving the US a real fight and standing up to the bully. If anything, this might give courage to others that they CAN actually fight back if they try.

Shutting down multiple countries seems difficult and dangerous

It's likely they will hit HVT In Iran like missile and nuclear sites and then try to end the war until next time

Unless Iran says hell no and goes against everyone

Strategically, Iran should reject any requests for ceasefire, and carry on operations for weeks. That will build deterrence as then the USA will know they can start something, but after that, they "lose control" of the situation, that is an important lesson for them.

Of course, for Iran to fight this war but I do think Iran should not time box this to within the USA's and Israel's "plans". This has to turn into a quagmire for them both otherwise it will only start up again in weeks/months etc.
