To be honest, China from a decade ago was quite weak compared to it is now.

And I don't think any country during that period had the faith that China could truly challenge the US, let alone surpass it.

Attacking US bases will bring US directly to war.

Israel planned this very meticulously. They must have planned for Iranian retailiation as well. Do you want to follow their playbook or check mate by blocking global trade ?.

US spy satellites must already be in positioned, along with UK's intelligence apparatus, Arabs and their assets giving full intel to America aka Israel, so don't think that IDF bring everything they still have much to throw at you and they will, even if they keep similar style Strikes for a week your entire BM program will be send back decades.
