But if you see Iraq and Afghanistan wars, while the wars were horrible in destructiveness, there were much fewer casualties than in Vietnam. About a tenth of Vietnam (less than 5,000 vs. more than 50,000). One important reason is, Vietnam had many draftees while modern wars have professionals. But destructive it will be. The 'nice' air attacks with laser guided munitions that make pin holes in the center of target will be replaced by the much uglier bunker busters.

This is known as a F Pole maneuver which is you try to energy bleed the interceptor(s) by pulling last second a high G manuever that the interceptor cannot match

And no Sejil has been used in this conflict already —not the first time

part of the reason is shortage of food, water and power in Tehran even before the war started. True the war accelerated the departure.

You think US would/could be more brutal than the Soviets in Afghanistan? Doubt that
That didn't save the USSR nor will it save the US when they see Iranian militias being supplied with topclass russian, possibly Chinese weaponry
And the Iranians themselves are no less capable

I dont think brutality alone can save a ground invasion
