Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Iranian AD is a joke. People here celebrate f-15 kill. Id get if they blasted every single launcher out of the sky but theres a kc-130 flying less than 3k feet and no one even tries to shoot at it? Thats small arms fire range. This is not a function of systems that are remaining or destroyed but iranians failing to capitalise on opportunities and only being able to hit us stuff that got close out of their own stupidity

Where is the evidence for this?

Iran has hundreds/thousands of operators with manpads all over the country now ready to shoot at any viable target.

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump warned late on Thursday about striking and destroying bridges and electric power plants in Iran in his latest threat to hit the country’s infrastructure.

The US military “hasn’t even started destroying what’s left in Iran. Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants,” Trump wrote on social media.

His post said that Iran’s leadership “knows what has to be done, ‌and has ‌to be done, FAST!“

Trump, who has previously ‌offered shifting timelines and objectives for the war, said in a televised speech on Wednesday that the war could escalate if Iran did not give in to Washington’s terms, with strikes on its energy and oil infrastructure possible.

Iran’s Fars News Agency said that several prominent bridges in regional countries could be possible targets after two strikes hit the B1 bridge early Thursday. The list includes bridges in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan and Kuwait.

Dozens of international law experts in the US signed an open letter released earlier on Thursday saying that US strikes on Iran may amount to war crimes.

The 1949 ‌Geneva Conventions on humanitarian conduct ‌in war prohibit attacks on sites considered essential for civilians.

The Geneva Conventions ‌and additional protocols say that parties involved in military conflict ‌must distinguish between “civilian objects and military objectives,” and that attacks on civilian objects are forbidden.

“We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We are going to ‌bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong,” Trump said in his Wednesday address.

While he said Washington was nearing the completion of its goals in Iran, Trump did not lay out a timeline to end the war.

The war began on February 28 when the US and Israel attacked Iran. Tehran responded by launching its own attacks on Israel and Gulf states with US bases. Joint US-Israeli strikes in Iran and Israeli attacks in Lebanon have killed thousands and displaced millions.

The war has also raised oil prices and shaken global markets. Trump’s mixed messages thus far have done little to ease the concerns over his country’s biggest military attacks since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. I hope so, if my company has to pay more, if i do not get a pay rise this year, if we cancel our annual big family holiday. So be it, would have been all worth it to see Iran give them a bloody nose and remind us all of what a Muslim nation is capable of.

As far as I am concerned Iran stands as an equal to Pakistan now.
The thing I am worried is what will happen in the coming days. US and Israel may not admit it but they have been hit hard and with Trump raging like a lunatic, there is high chance of him doing something very very drastic. Moreover, there is also high chance of Pak getting hit in the crossfire as well.
The world is and will continue to greatly suffer once and whenever this war ends.

Thanks for the information. So, what can Iran do against C-17, C-130 or similar aircraft that the US may use for logistics in future? Assuming they would fly below the radar coverage.

358 or it’s bigger brother, is probably the best bet, the infrared would be passive and the laser proximity fuse wouldn’t activate till it’s already too close. Has a long loitering range.

Dey system or Majid could work. Or any AA/cannon based system. But all these rely on “right place, right time”.

Translation: we cant destroy Iran like Libya, we cant rape and kill pregnant women inside Iran like we did in Algeria.

Iran should give MANPADS to EVERY citizen in southern Iran and give them fire at will commands

RIGHT NOW

They should have MANPAD "squads" deployed on vehicles at specific intervals for "targets of opportunity like this" absolutely! Deployable teams that can drive quickly anywhere and fire off a few missiles at the minimum.

This operation went on for hours.

The problem with OTH is it cannot be used for targeting. It more detect to let radars know what vector to scan to get tracking. So it’s usually used for early warning to detect a massive attack so the air defense squads and airforce could get airborne. (Theoretically)
Sure, OTH radars are used as early warning systems because they operate in long wavelengths to bounce back the ionosphere. Long wavelength means poor angular resolution due to diffraction. That's why every country operates a variety of radars in different wavelengths for early detection and tracking. The problem is that we cannot even detect flying objects in our airspace in real time, regardless of the resolution.

Khuzestan is tribal governed and I’m sure Iran is focused on high value points right now. It’s disappointing that thousands of manpads haven’t been dispatched in southern Iran among the populace but it is what it is.
Yes, it is what it is but my point is that this sort of failure can encourage the Americans to go ahead with their invasion plans.

It’s highly likely it’s over. We keep seeing the same videos appears to be from the morning local time. This happened 7+ hours ago.

Just like with the KC tanker downing the results were already know just not made public for hours.
Let's stay optimistic that we have done better than we think.

Tbf USAF are good pilots. It's just overconfidence breeds complacency which leads to mistakes.

Agreed, but still, as the OP Joked about (and hence my reply), the scenario of stealing an F14 Tomcat, shooting down 2 5th Gen fighters with it ... and Returning to base still seems a bit excessive even for the best of pilots. I still think they will end up having no clue how to fight a Tomcat.

Blowing up bridges and the other infrastructure in Iran further indicates a upcoming ground invasion. So the Irani troops cannot be mobilized from one city to another to fight.
China and Russia are helping out Iran but indirectly so far. But the moment they see Iran collapsing they will definitely step in militarily. Either it's going to stop the aggression against Iran or WW3. I hope the former. And they should step in earlier because each and every Irani life is precious. Though Zionist and American scum can die in millions no one cares.
