No. There isn't enough preparation or logistics for a ground invasion. Also, what exactly will be achieved with invading a country of Iran's size? We should not let our mood turn negative after shooting down 2 jets, damaging helicopter (wounding crew) and another A-10 in 1 single day. We do have to learn from mistakes and improve, war itself is a learning proces.

You are totally correct, everyone is ignoring the fact that 1 plane was shot down and then 2 helicopters were damaged (as per Western Media) and another Warthog plane was shot down in all of this, meanwhile it took US more than a day to rescue the pilot in a remotely undefended area, even with the advantage of knowing the location.

Everything from yesterday was a huge embarrassment for the US and even their own media were looking at pilot's rescue, as a something to get out of the fiasco after a string of embarrassments, not as some kind of a win. If anything, all front pages were insulting Trump and Hegseth at their false claims regarding Iranian air defenses.

Recovering him would not make all of this look any better for the US. I think Iran was very successful in making this all as embarrassing and loss making for the US as possible and US would actually be deterred a bit from a full invasion, knowing how much of a fiasco this one incident turned out to be.

This means Iranian AA operatives didn't believe it was shot down until reports came out. And Iranian army + IRGC network is much larger than small organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas so communicating that to appropriate parties on the ground may be an more extensive protocol

Damages sense of security in the countries. The oil installations also are being hit. Investor confidence in GCC is going down. Has more long term effects. Insurance rates are very high due to closure of Hormuz Strait.

These nations cannot afford loss of sense of security like others can.

Locals found wreckage pretty quickly and Iran had announced targeting a fighter jet and hitting it just hours before.

The problem is the pilot didn’t fall in flat desert terrain like Iraq, he fell in very mountainous terrain. Like finding a needle in a hay stack. He has hundreds of places he can hide.

You would need helicopters or drones with thermal imaging to find him. Assets which Iran likely cannot field any longer in this war.

He fell in a nearby province that is 50x bigger than Gaza and nearly entirely mountainous

They knew where the pilot was due to beacon, tracker, comms etc picking him him, causing confusion is difficult but not impossible, especially if the areas was sparse

It's completely different trying to force thousands of soldiers into a country trying to resist, where your launch areas and points of invasion are known


Irans biggest problem will be facing the air attacks protecting any ground force, not the ground force itself

So is that propaganda value worth the exchange of military resources to obtain? Men and equipment will certainly be lost to get it. Meanwhile, the drone and missile attacks continue and ships still aren't crossing Hormuz. I think the idea that Trump would have called off an invasion because of one pilot is not realistic.
