Chinese firms provide images to Iran behind the scenes. Iran doesn’t leak those out of goodwill and OpSEC.

Iran will sometimes releases non sensitive images from Russian and Chinese satellites that are more commercial low resolution of targets it hits. They have been doing that throughout the war and their images have been confirmed by western commercial satellites rather than being fake AI or something.

But Iran absolutely leak Russian or Chinese spy satellite images that can give the U.S. an idea of the capability of those satellites.

That's an important distinction but it's also about combat readiness and communication protocols. Who's in charge of the region where the pilots fell?

Did the Iranian military and IRGC ever prepare for scenarios like this? Even capturing pilot and getting them to populated section of this region would make it way more unlikely US would try to recover them.

And if they still tried, it would require more resources and subject US army to many casualties.

What ramifications can we expect from this operation?

Here are my thoughts:

• US will likely go back to resorting to stand off munitions and reduce flights deep inside Iran or limit them to F-35 on limited incursions and B-2 aircraft for deeper ones
• U.S. will be less likely to want to fly deep into Iran to do the Isfahan uranium extraction option if they aren’t even willing to lose one or two pilots.
• Iran will likely realize (if it hasn’t already) considerable weaknesses in its rapid response forces to respond to threats in remote regions and will work to reinforce critical sites located in more remote areas and bases.
• Trump will likely feel that a ground game for the islands or coastline is safer bet than the uranium operation
