Wondering couldn't Pakistani ships enter Iranian territorial waters via their own territorial waters? USN wouldn't be able to come in that case due to fear of ASMs.

If they could then in theory Chinese vessels could hug Pakistani territorial waters to enter Iranian.

Assuming it is deep enough, Pakistani oil tankers can navigate via the its territorial waters from Iran's territorial waters, but if that does work, I don't see Pakistan offering that for other countries as then the US may be tempted to "really clamp" down on that politically etc.

Pakistan should absolutely use that route for itself.

China can look after themselves, they are big boys.. Pakistan does not need to get involved in something that China does not want to get involved in.

Hints from the talks suggest this to be true. My own impression of the two sides eventually having face-to-face discussions is that they had actually reached some form of an agreement, but then additional demands were introduced, resulting in the breakdown. I am sure Islamabad has those agreed-upon points, and indications are that it is building the case for the second round of talks.

Also, I think the two Israeli agents in the talks Mr. Kushner and Mr. Witkoff were in communication with Netanyahu during the talks and so no surprise the 'shifting goalposts', as Araghchi said, were introduced.
I am still hopeful for at least the ceasefire to hold, if not extended and some resolution to come within next few weeks.

Trump is trying to frame the war on Iran. If Iran blocks all ships passing SOH for long, then world opinion esp in those badly affected countries might be even out against US and Iran. So, Iran has to weigh out carefully about the consequences. Trump is obviously wants to choke or even collapse Iran's economy by totally blocking Iran's oil export so it can't continue to fight.. I am also a little skeptical that China will send PLAN to escort.

Iran needs to understand the uniqueness of the strait and also need to be aware of the need to deal with a dual domain war. One is military warfare, and the other is diplomatic warfare. It is very important for Iran to blame the United States and Israel for cutting off the strait in the diplomatic field.

Firstly, the Chinese Navy does not have the capability to confront the US Navy in the Persian Gulf.

Secondly, China's oil security policy is excellent, and simply interrupting oil in the Persian Gulf is unlikely to affect China's economy.



China is likely to assist Iran through military aid.

or even better chinese ships or even any ship in the world can come to Gawadar, and get iranian oil via their pipeline which terminates at pakistani border only 60 kms from iranian border. Transport oil from there to gawadar and get them into oil tankers
