hilarious! he is already backtracking. as expected, they will not send US Navy ships to the Persian Gulf and Trump's entire tweet was intended to manipulate the markets.

As I said before, arrest Argachi and Qalibaf. Not even Bani Sadr did this much damage to Iran in such a short time.

"It looks like Iran is left with only two choices: sit back and watch the US Navy escort ships through the strait, losing all their leverage, or respond militarily to protect it."

turns out that is not the case and that guy had too much faith in Trump

It’s only a matter of time till they try the escort path and call Iran’s bluff.

Same thing happened with the attacks on fuel storage outside Tehran, first they claimed it was all Israel (“wtf” message) then they attack Iran’s gas facility days later and again Trump declared it was Israel’s fault and attacks would stop. Yet by the end of the war they were attacking Iran’s steel and energy facilities and bridges with trumps full blessing and bluster!

Learn the U.S. playbook or keep getting made a fool.

Everything the U.S. does at first is testing the waters. This tweet was just that testing the waters to get it into people’s minds that it’s acceptable for US to escort these ships so that by the time they actually do, people will have thought they had already been doing it and that Iran looks like the aggressor.

Iran is in a very tough spot. Its best tool at this point is to drop thousands of mines and block the strait for good. It’s a passive defense that doesn’t require active weapons to be used on US and blocks the strait to all parties.

Iran has very little time to go ahead and begin mass mine laying operations.

Iran is already mining the Strait and Trump will not send US Navy ships into the Persian Gulf any time soon, and the Strait will stay practically closed until Iran decides to open it again

It looks like this gimmick is all designed to prop up the futures markets. Too many contradictory statements from Trump and his representatives.

Trump family and their good buddies making out like bandits I'm sure.

And to think, not too long ago, a lot of these people were freaking out over Hunter Biden selling some paintings. Small potatoes compared to the Trump families corruption

Some Iranians seem to think the Europeans are more rational creatures and thus trade and dialogue can happen with these nations.

In reality, they are just the younger weaker bullied brother of America.

The Europeans WERE the Americans

Same Western white extremism, same brutality and deceit

They have just grown old and weaker and don't have the same ability to dictate to the world or project power

They are still dangerous, because they still have as a collective strong militaries and the industry to back it up, but things are changing quickly

is Trump really going to send US navy ships into the Persian Gulf / Strait of Hormoz just to call Iran's bluff?

can he even do that considering Iran has laid several mines in the Strait?

seems very unlikely. keen for a US perspective on how that would work, but I think it's nonsense and unlikely to materialise. @AZ_HighCountry

The question is which ships will be given the assignment and what are the ROE? The optics at home will be bad if a US naval asset is struck and personnel killed. Politically, it will be spun as the President sacrificing US military lives for Israel and oil.

Who cares what these pathetic Euros have to say. They like to suck the Americans, but Trump treats them with utter contempt.
In a way, I'm not seeing the problem. The US has carried the lion's share of Europe's defense since the inception of NATO. Without the US, what does Europe have?
