Please allow me to explain my comment, which I made in all seriousness:

To an impartial observer, that comment is not unhinged, but gives a valuable insight to the the prism through which Iranians see their overall struggle, not just this war.

It also explains why this conflict is dragging on for so long.

If one side has an overwhelming military advantage, it is also suffering from a confused and incompetent leadership, and a polarized society.

If the other side is weak by comparison militarily, it has the advantages of a dedicated and united leadership, supported by a zealous population willing to die for their ideals.

Hence the situation. How this might end, I do not know.
