Donald Trump is most certainly stupid enough to order a tactical nuclear strike on some of the heavily defended missile bases, but the problem for the USA is that if he does, then that gives the green light to Russia to start using them in Ukraine.

Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombings were not greenlight for USSR usage of nukes.

USA ruling elite is different and they don't expect fair treatment.

If Iran war escalates until USA warships sinking, then USA likely will want nuclear bombing over Iran. Like Pearl Harbor was justification for Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

If the US uses tactical nukes on Iran, you won't be given a chance to develop nukes to retaliate.

Japan was nuked twice with weapons that were considered strategic at the time. Look at Japan now. Did they ever even think of retaliation against the US? No.

It is not my assumption or even Max's; he is saying that Trump would like to wrap up in two days by using tactical nukes.
BTW, the impact of nukes--the psychological impact, that is--is not be underestimated; they would not be just nukes destroying some military targets but as 'warning' to escalate such strikes further; study Hiroshima and Nagasaki for that. And who is going to stop Trump from doing so?? It is a jungle out there!

I dont particularly care who's assumption it is to be frank, brother. It's half baked and not realistic. And as I said to Shapur, comparing Iranian military, who have a different culture and religion i.e. belief on afterlife, to that of Japan in the 40s, is too simplistic and not a like for like comparison...just full of assumptions. These nuke attacks would have to cause regime change, which they probably won't, but will rather embolden Iran to make their own nukes, unless of course Iran is wiped off the map or there is a regime change on the back of it. I have yet to hear anyone counter what I'm saying here.

Russia will face same consequences if they use nuclear weapons, no matter if USA uses it or not.

And if Iran sinks American warships, you can expect even strategic nukes, not just tactical.

if you invest in SHORADs, LOMADs and CIWs, then you can neutralise ALBMs.

Intercepting ALBMs is very difficult. You have shorter reaction time and it's harder to predict its path. Look at Ukraine, they have managed to intercept Russian ground launched ballistic missiles, but open-source estimates of ALBM interceptions are significantly lower.

I hope there is no nukes dropped on Iran but I also believe the main thing stopping an attack on Iran is the fear of American casualties and everything will be done to reduce them. Everything! That's because an attack on Iran has not even been 'sold' to the American public and so it will be very difficult to justify body bags coming to America. And that's where Iran has an advantage: A reluctant enemy and someone yesterday even posted Iran trying to figure out how to inflict maximum American casualties as a deterrent against the war. Americans know that and they would try to do to counter that; President Trump cannot take significant number of American body bags!!
In short, I don't rule out tactical nukes on Iran.

So you're saying the American public haven't been sold the war, and your idea of going around this is US dropping nukes? Maybe we should have this conversation when you've broken your fast, as that is ludicrous. You also don't know what Iran has or doesn't have in terms of enriched uranium, dirty bombs or whatever so anything anyone says is conjecture, which includes you as well.

Yes - there is no 100% guarantee on anything, but if you combine shoot-scoot tactics that are quicker than the kill-loop and have the SHORADs, LOMADs and CIWs as well, you can minimise losses.
