Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Modern wars "don’t last very long" (5-15 days) is historically inaccurate regarding major power conflicts. While the initial "shock and awe" phase is short, the occupations, proxy wars, and asymmetric warfare that follow last for decades (e.g., Afghanistan, Iraq, Ukraine). The U.S. has already proven it can maintain massive defense budgets and deficits for prolonged periods. Arab money will alleviate the pain and the argument that the "American economy can’t really afford it" ignores the reality that the U.S. defense budget is treated as a political priority, not a fiscal constraint, by Washington.
Ok, but US doesn't have the economic luxuries today to afford expensive wars, especially a non- short one.
Why Pakistan and Iran haven't improved their economic partnership and signed a defense pact is beyond astonishing, in a rapidly changing world both need to put aside their differences and work in unity. Both Iran and Pakistan need each other more than before and both have common enemies.
Pakistan and Iran havent improved their relationship and signed a defense pact because Pakistani govt sold Pakistan's sovereignty to an unspoken "joint partnership" between China and US. China controls Pakistan economically while US remote controls Pakistan politically and militarily. This is why Iran has to monitor Pakistan closely, because Iran doesn't know which side/border its enemies will approach it from in the pending war and the Pakistani govt has sold out Pakistan and its core values, for some money, to save the state from insolvency, that can still happen. Iran could really do with a reliable Pakkstan today but I dont think Pakistan is fully dependable for or committed to Iran no matter the govt leader comments.

brilliant analysis on Pakistan and its dealings

they said enriched, not to which level

it's broadly accurate if you include pre war levels of enriched uranium. I think you owe him an apology

Yes. If you include uranium at 0.7% (natural but still mined and transfered), 3.5%, 5% and 20%, you end up with large uranium reservers.

7780kg at 3.5% -----> 5444kg at 5% -----> 1361kg at 20% -----> 450 kg at 60%.
At natural levels (0.7%) it would be roughly 39000kg (39 tonnes)

Prior to 12-day skirmish, Iran had uranium (and probably still does) at all those levels. They were almost certainly referring to all uranium currently located in Iran (with the possible exception of natural uranium).

Barack Obama never honoured the JCPOA he signed himself.
Hmm..
There were NO sanctions relief given by the Obama administration from the time of the JCPOA signings to when Trump tore it up!
$80bn of sanctioned Iranian $ was transferred from US to Iran while jcpoa was active. Despite how imperfect it was the JCPOA Obama and Iran signed is such a miracle agmt compared to what we have now.

well in fairness, the USA didn't launch that war

but someone is lying about these negotiations and with this massive US force build up and the IRI's track record, it is not looking good

You think if North Korea was negotiating with South Korea (or the U.S.) and the negotiating team failed to realize their opponent was stringing them along, that after the “surprise”attack that the entire negotiating team wouldn’t be executed? Argachi got fooled by fucking Steve Witkoff. That’s even worse than Zarif getting fooled by John ‘Flip Flopper’ Kerry,

Didn’t it come out years later the Zarif negotiating team had a spy?

This is exactly why Iran lost everything this soft ass foreign policy. Nobody fears Iran on the world stage anymore.

The country that went from blowing up Marine Barracks and Jewish Buildings around the world now is scared to respond when their embassy gets blown off the face of the earth or the 2nd most powerful man in Iran gets butchered on a diplomatic mission.

The pro revolutionary fanatics that were basically Shiite versions of the Taliban in 1980s, now suddenly have grown softer and kinder in their old age with the taste of money and influence.

Let’s not forget that 95% of this very board thought going to war in 2024 alongside Hamas/HZ was too risky and that Israel was “destroying itself” and Iran was playing some elaborate form of 6D chess. That iran cannot fight Israel or U.S. so it should sit on its hands till an act of God happens and Israel and America disappear into the sea or nonsensical strategy.

Last I checked Israel is now turning its sight on West Bank. Joined the Board of Peace. Had India PM’s kissing their ass. And their stock market is gone thru the roof. Iran is now fighting at its weakest in years with most of its foreign legions occupied or not interested in joining. Use it or lose it and it seems Iran decided it was better to lose it.

So whatever Iran has been doing, they should do the exact opposite. Because since 2020 they been losing everything.

This leadership should kiss the hands of George W Bush because if it weren’t for his idiotic wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, iran would still surrounded by Bin Laden and Saddam/Saddam’s sons. They should kiss the hands of Assad for not following in his Arab brothers footsteps like Egypt and Jordan and cutting off any routes to rearm HZ/Hamas and establishing detente with Israel.

Iran’s diplomats have been stupid
Iran’s presidents have been stupid
Iran’s generals have been stupid

It’s like a circus over there. The warriors died on the battlefield. Everyone left in Tehran are the cowards who didn’t want to fight and wanted to count their dollars instead.

40 years in power and they couldn’t rotate bunkers or build it deeper than a basement. Their entire SNSC had to escape from a ventilation shaft. Hajizadeh and Bagheri were not so lucky.

It seems even wealthy men have more secure bunkers and security service than Iran’s top generals and politicians.

Argachi is the Temu version of Zarif. And Zarif gave up Arak reactor and sold the lie that the reactor was never ‘destroyed’. I wonder what Argachi will sell to the leadership at home this time to give up.

A great analysis from American writer that debunks Trump's bravado.

Stealth Bombers and Bunker Busters

B-2 “Stealth Bomber” Dropping a GBU-57 “Bunker Buster” Bomb
A retrospective analysis of the so-called 12-Day War, and the triumphantly celebrated Operation Midnight Hammer.

The GBU-57 is a big fat gravity bomb with fins. To achieve effective precision, a B-2 bomber must drop it on its intended target from no further than about five nautical miles — essentially right on top of the target.

Its penetration depth is claimed to be 200 feet. But that capability has NEVER been tested against a seriously hardened deep-underground target encased in layers of high-performance concrete, and topped with a few dozen meters of solid rock. In that sort of real-world scenario, the GBU-57 would be lucky to drill down 50 feet, if that.
It was always ridiculous silly talk to suggest the GBU-57 was the wonder weapon it was made out to be. There is a good reason the US only produced a couple dozen of them and then stopped: they understood its acute limitations in a non-permissive combat environment.

And, notwithstanding the hyperbolic Israeli propaganda, there was never any credible evidence that Iranian medium- and long-range air defenses against fixed-wing aircraft were attrited to any significant degree. And Iranian short-range air defenses were increasingly effective against long-range Israeli drones with each passing day.

As for the B-2: it is a big fat subsonic aircraft. It flies at airliner speeds. A strike on Fordow would entail flying at least 500 miles in and out of Iran.

It is nonsense that the B-2 is effectively invisible. It can be tracked from long distances, and targeted sufficiently well that missiles with effective terminal guidance (thermal / optical) can kill it.
The Iranians established during the October 26, 2024 Israeli counterstrike that they could paint F-35s with their radars. That is why the Israelis launched nothing but long-range stand-off munitions: aero-ballistic and cruise missiles – of which they have a very limited stockpile.

The same conditions prevailed during the 12-Day War.

And just as the Israelis were unwilling to risk getting fighters shot down over Iran, neither was the USAF willing to risk getting a B-2 shot down over Iran.

Maybe a few B-2s launched some JASSMs from over Iraq or the Caspian Sea. Maybe nothing but sub-launched Tomahawks hit Iranian targets. But it certainly wasn’t GBU-57 “Bunker Buster” bombs dropped by a half-dozen B-2s casually flying in Iranian airspace for an hour.

And whatever was dropped inflicted no meaningful damage. Fordow was scratched at best. A bunch of surface structures at Natanz were blown up.

Trump’s claim that Iran’s nuclear program was destroyed is absurd nonsense. No one with even a modest understanding of these things believes that.

The Israelis certainly don’t believe it, and they have admitted as much.

It is true that, in retaliation, the Iranians precisely targeted and convincingly destroyed a significant communications complex at the American Al Udeid airbase in Qatar.

The fictionalized B-2 “Bunker Buster” strike on Fordow, and the token Iranian ballistic missile strike on Al Udeid were orchestrated events designed to grease the tracks of a ceasefire that was proposed by the Americans and agreed to by the Iranians.

The Americans and Israelis had expended almost their entire inventories of ballistic missile interceptors over the course of a week and a half, and Iranian missiles were raining down with effective impunity the last few days.

The Iranians knew damn well they had already achieved a strategic victory, despite their shaky start.

I’m also convinced the Russians and Chinese encouraged Iran to accept the ceasefire proposal.

It allowed both sides to claim a PR victory, lick their wounds, and prepare for the next round.

Meanwhile, the Iranians have more production capability than do their US/Israeli counterparts. And it also appears the Iranians are much more amenable to Russian and Chinese assistance now than they may have been previously.

When this war resumes, the Iranians will be comparatively stronger than they were before. And the risks for the US/Israel will be significantly heightened.

People do not get it, it was never about nuclear, it is about Iran's ability to punch jews per will as in 12 days war, in my opinion american goyims already decided to fulfill their master's wishes but they are in process how to swallow it politically and those nuclear talks are part of it.

If war starts, remember to hit them very hard and very painful the first few hours to one day of the war. Wipe out all the US Navy ships within range, and pummel all the US bases most important, including the Jordanian base.

Don't hesitate and don't EVEN think about limiting enemy casualties. Just shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, and don't think about anything else. War is about winning after killing as many enemy soldiers as possible, not won by holding back.

The redneck Vance says we can reach and agreement and we don't want to repeat Iraqi scenario.

This prick doesn't say we eat our own word.

One thing is for sure, if USA backs off in this case, Israel will find itself surrounded and will be forced into attacking Arab countries.

As always Iraq will be in grave danger. The retarded Al-Sudani never learnt that US promises and American words is worth only being written on toilet papers.

He left his country bare to Israeli vultures. Ignoring Iran will bite Iraq again.
