Iran did not acquire Chinese fighter jets. That's a fact. But we cannot use the subjective judgment term "unwilling."

China has always been open to Iran purchasing J-10C fighter jets. However, they chose the Su-35.

The J-10C is a medium-sized fighter jet based on Chinese systems warfare concepts. The Su-35 is a heavy fighter jet based on Russian platform warfare concepts. The two are completely incomparable. Given Iran's own conditions, the Su-35 is a more suitable choice for the Iranian Air Force.

I think youre stuck on two issues.

1) the word "unwilling".

And

2) the type of jets.

To address the first, like I said, it doesnt matter. The end result is the same.

To address the second, Iran's air force is vintage. Either one would have been a big boost. Iran has tried multiple times to buy from Russia, even paying fully each time, only to receive nothing on return.

We know Iran went to China after the last round in the hopes of switching to China. For whatever reason, nothing materialized and Iran ended up going back to Russia, because it didnt have a choice.

Again, end result was the same.

Iran had the chance to go out swinging (preempt) launching dozens of salvos like the 12 day war maybe even a 100+ BM salvo but looks like US took out that capability. As Iran launches what is left those launchers will have a short life span.

Ships would have been the ideal target, the cost and manpower. Past experience has shown that the United States starts its opening salvo from the ships.

The Muslim world would have done nothing; they can't move.

So hitting the ships would make US retreat from their bases in Turkey, Qatar, Saudi, Jordan etc? If only it was that easy.

Stop blaming the Sunni world for all of Irans failures and incompetence. No Muslim or Arab country is involved in these attacks.

I think just one example is how hard Turkey/GCC/West worked together to sponsor the civil war in Syria and remove Assad. That is what opened the gateway to these repeated attacks on Iran by Israel, West and frankly the GCC.
It's been same story since 1980 when this same gang sponsored Saddam's attack on Iran.

The ships were just one potential point of attack. To deter US and Israel, Iran would have had to hit and destroy American bases in Turkey, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi etc. Something which Iran doesn't have the capability of. And muslim world would go absolutely crazy and declare jihad on Shias.

None those bases are launching attacks at Iran..

Iran has only 2 enemies who time and again attack Iran which are Israel and US.

But still Iran is always looking to find enemies in sunni countries

Iranians are somehow trying to make enemies out of Turkey, Azeris, KSA, etc. None of them are launching any attacks on Iran.

Why you just can't remove these countries from your head and focus on your core enemies. Attack US fleet and attack Israel. No need to attack anyone else.

In the end, I pray Iran keep standing and tire the enemy out and somehow able to keep its missile capabilities whenever the war ends.
