Like it or not, most Syrians despised Assad and his crimes he and his family committed. Assad had a chance to step down and transition power instead of letting the country fall apart. Either way this is another debate.

This doesn’t answer the REPEATED failures by Iran. Iran has shown it is incompetence with the last two engagements. Iran used Hezbollah as a proxy to shield itself from attack. It never intended on any confrontation and this is why you see all the failures. Israel has shown air dominance over Iran with Iran having very limited counterattacking capabilities. A few missiles launched on Israel is not gonna change the outcome of the war. Israel has shown it can dish out many times the damage Iran can and cause countless deaths/casualties. How many Israelis died in last two attacks?

All dictators stay in power by force, including the current one in Syria and the rest of the "Islamic" world. The dictator's opposition being provided money, training, arms, intelligence and political support is how you can create civil war in a country and overthrow the sitting govt. That's the service Turkey and GCC provided to their Western/Israeli allies in Syria, setting the stage for these attacks on Iran.

Yep, no matter how the US has been weakened in front of China, but they are still vastly out leagued Iran. This is no contest.

If Iran can hold up this time, and repeat a version 2.0 of the last year, it should be considered as victory.
