IRGC does have a lot of anti-ship cruise, ballistic options plus drones.

Hormuz is quite narrow and swarms of IRGC munitions can overwhelm them.

But if USN is going through with this, they must be very confident in the efficacy of their AD and the speed of their OODA loop.

I mean Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia was the main American airbase in the region from the 90s to the 2010s. All the Air operations against Iraq, from Op Desert Fox in 1998 to the invasion in 2003 and subsequent insurgency were carried out from there. I don't know whether the US still uses Prince Sultan airbase as extensively as before but Saudis were always keen to keep it hush hush. All the Gulf bases are utilized by the US to carry out its regional operations, why else do they exist in the first place ??
