If you get rid of sissi, another general will take power. It's the same as before, you removed Mubarak and replaced him with another Mubarak called Sissi.

This kind of attacks is for Hezbollah to stand down and exit conflict. And signals they are not interested in ground invasion of Lebanon.

I know a bit about Xi and his upbringing/family and how he rose to power. He doesn’t strike me as a man who wants to be forced into a military solution, no matter how enticing the opportunity.

There was rumors that he wanted to take Taiwan back in 2024, but he was talked out of it by a high ranking party official (forgot the name) who has since been removed for “corruption”.

I’d like a Chinese person’s opinion as I don’t follow Chinese geopolitics enough to make an assessment on Xi’s long term plan for Taiwan.

I don’t see any such rumors. A couple Qalibaf was assainated rumors.

But IDF is quick to claim if it has done an operation and feels confident to make the claim.

I don’t see any pro IDF accounts making any such claims about Argachi or Qalibaf.

Remember Argachi is a moderate, he was on Zarif’s negotiating team. He comes from Pezeshkhian camp. Larijani was also a pragmatic man, his daughter lives in the U.S. for Pete sakes.

If Israel wants to kill all the moderates and pragmatics, then you will be left with the ones who want a nuke.

That’s a great speech, but the reality is if the U.S. gets its hands on the enriched uranium and leaves or destroys it. Then Iran’s leverage is gone for any potential negotiated settlement.

If you are banking on oil at $200/barrel to crash the world into a Great Depression and make Americans run away, you have too many moderates still in control in Iran. How do i know that? Because they are doing this leniency with the strait letting ships go for BS reasons (LNG to India). This soft sentimental heart isn’t going to get oil moving. You are seeing countries reacting. Iraq is moving oil thru Kurdistan pipelines. The longer Iran waits the faster countries think of some type of work around.

Also the U.S. bombing Iranian coastal regions today is the “softening” campaign for eventual land forces to hit the shores. I’m not saying it will be easy, but for the U.S. boots on the ground will be an inevitability.
