Iran should comprehensively strengthen its Shiite militias in Iraq, aiming for a long term war and transforming them into a second Hezbollah.
It can no longer afford to pander to the Iraqi government, which is subservient to the Ebstein coalition. It goes without saying how reassuring it would be to have a force like Hezbollah, which can directly supply and cooperate with neighboring countries.
Regardless of what the West says, Iran should no longer compromise on building an alliance.
It should construct a state within a state controlling southern Iraq, maintain its presence there with unwavering determination for 50 years, and use it as a forward base to prepare for attacks from Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

I think people are overestimating irans capabilities of holding the strait of hormuz millitarily. If the US really wanted they can run the Strait with a SAG of 6-8 destroyers covered by aircraft and be relatively safe doing so. Even if iran was to lets say total current launch rate of 30 anti ship ballistic missiles and 30 cruise missiles and 100 drones 6-8 arleigh burkes with linked aegis and fighter cover have a relatively good chance getting in unscathed with. Possible MEU and LHD in tow. The problem is sustained fire rate. They cant stay around the strait for more than a couple days before they get overwhelmed and thus they inherently cant keep the strait open for merchant shipping if thats the case. And after they are in the persian gulf is also a very hostile environment with usvs and missiles constantly about.

More accurate is Couple of hours before being sunk. Iran probably has thousands of ASM of various types they even converted old AD missiles into anti ship ones, drones excluded.

The AN/TPY-2 radar system costs approximately $485m according to a CSIS review of defence department budget documents. The air-defence systems are used for the long-range interception of ballistic missiles.

Strikes by Iran caused an additional $310m in estimated damages to buildings, facilities and other infrastructure on US bases and military bases used by American forces in the region.

Sorry but the 800m USD price tag is ridiculously underrated. The actual damage is in the billions. It's pretty much a widely accepted fact.

For better or worse iranian decided that west reapproachment is finished story, i would say for better but lot of time and good people sacrificed for harboring illusion that some honest, civilized and just framework could be carved out with them.
On better side is when that illusion is shattered narrowed focus and concentrated effort will yield more suitable outcomes for emergent current iranian needs.

Ghaem is a tristaged solid fueled TEL SLV, which with a Re-entry Vehicle can hit probably +10000 KM. Its similar to Russian Yars or Minutemen in terms of ISP of stages. A very powerful machine as a nuke deliverer at distance.

Qased is another tristaged TEL SLV which if deployed with Re-entry Vehicle instead of Sat bus can probably hit 7000-8000 KM considering its ISP is less than Ghaem.

Both are IRGC products, different from SLVs of Iranian Space Agency ISA.
