Iran was under harsh arms embargo until recent years. Iran was in the process of acquiring Modern aircraft before the war broke out.

It was in the process of giving Russia money in exchange for receiving nothing....for decades.

The Iranians should have bought air defenses and aircraft from the Chinese a decade ago, but they kept relying on Russia even after the Russians screwed Iran multiple times.

A lot of people dont put respect on this man's name but he was the first one who said out loud that US and Israel are not going to achieve their stated goals. One interesting bit from another video is that he says that US dominance in the region is ending with this war.

Nope, you said there would be no war at all. You said it was all media hype.
Everybody here said that the war would be an aerial campaign by the US and possibly Israel. Nobody was talking about an Iraq-style or Afghanistan-style war at all.

I think you need to learn that you can be wrong and stop talking out of your back, respectfully. None of us here are decision makers at the top level to be informed of the secret deals or potential game-changing developments that happen throughout the world.

Also, if you watch the last few minutes of this Indian channel video, there is an agreement between the Israeli analyst and the Indian retired military guy: They are both saying with Iran giving up its stock of enriched Uranium, it is a victory for Israel, so time to wrap up. The Indian guy calling Israel 'our brothers in Israel'! The India guy also saying Iran charging a toll for passage through the Strait could be one way to compensate Iran for the losses. Prior to this part of the video, India's General Bakshi has some good points, which are anti war, but nothing new.

Well the thing is now Iran has far more valid excuse to build a nuclear bomb with the world support. They attacked Iran in the middle of negotiations. Then that girls school that they bombed made the whole world go against them. I bet they won't agree and now they will say straight away yes we need a bomb for national security so next time there won't be another attack on Iran. Other thing the boosted confidence of Iran vs lost morale in the west. They did everything they could but still failed. So it can't be worse than that now Iran has nothing to lose and Iran learned to hold US and Israel by their neck.

Funny you mention this, just a couple days. back I was viewing a video of some IRGC official.

As per him, the logic behind focusing on the rocket force more than AF was that they could achieve parity and beat the US/Israeli defence systems in a shorter amount of time by investing in rockets. Going down the AF route and building up the industry and then manufacturing would take them a decade at best.

After all, North Korea does not have jets, they have missiles!

Smart move though IMO, as long as you have a capable AD deterrent as well.

It's such poor logic.

Having a missile force is smart, no one can doubt that after this war, but having a capable defensive air force is also important. It allows their missile launch pads to operate safely under air cover, and allows the to constantly contest air space. The air force doesn't have to meet parity, it just has to be good enough to be a threat.

The Ukraine war is a perfect example where Russia continues to have a superior air force, but because the Ukrainians had a smaller but competently staffed and stocked air force, the Ukrainians were able to keep the Russians at bay long enough to prove to the Europeans that Ukraine was worth aiding and wasn't going to get steamrolled.
