Problem US has is that to be effective they have to have AWACs in the region and that means basing them within missile range, These are big planes and do not fit into HAS. So very vulnerable.

Now big question is how is Iran getting timely cordinates on location of these assets as USAF will keep moving them?

My guess is Russia is paying back Western support for Ukraine by giving intel to Iran. Thsi will cost Russia very little but potentially have a massive dent in US capability.

If i was Putin and Xi I would love to see this war go on for months.....

Now 15,000 are going to the ME.

Yeah, and it is not just about actual aircraft losses. The wear and tear on the older planes (F-16s, F-15Es, E-3s, KC-135s etc) will be immense/ Basically 2-3 years worth of flying done in a month, maintainence cycles being skipped.

Then there is the weaponry being expended (granted almost all air to ground due to the nature of the war).

This has put back the USAF (and to a much lesser extent the USN) quite a bit
