I don't think they will go for the Wedgetail either, program will probably be cancelled. I have a prediction to make, I could be wrong but I think F-35 and the Ford class carrier are the last major weapons platforms the Americans were able to make, they won't be able to make any other major weapons platform in the future. It's all downhill from here.

They have invested in NGAD, but see your point, R&D wise they are falling so far behind they may just chuck it all in and downsize and become isolationist, pretty much what they were like between WW1 and WW2, just focus on themselves

They will fail in the NGAD F-47 or whatever they call it. I don't think it's because of R&D, it's mainly because of the erosion of democracy, institutions, crony capitalism, bureaucracy etc. Their Zumwalt destroyer, Constellation class etc cancelled one after another after spending a lot of money, that's a trend and it will continue.

I say, Iran keep the war of attrition for some time longer, pre-empt strikes on US staging grounds, strike at GCC economic interests. If the escalation ladder goes up one notch, then activate Yemen, strike the head of snakes (UAE, Jordan) hard, and continue pounding the Zios until they do a runner to Poland.

Meanwhile, Pakistan needs to play it smart and onboard a businessman. Find a way to extract every drop of dollar from the GCC cucks.

Yeah, they also seem to be facing major issues just in building SSNs and SSBNs, like literally only at a third of the rate of China now. Unsure what the underlying issues are here. You have someone like Musk who is readying to create a moon base and has 40,000 sats in orbit and can churn out spaceships monthly, and you have. the US defence industry taking 5 years now just to deliver F-16s to Slovakia and Apaches to India....

Brother how many E-7 wedgetails in service with USAF ? The article you mentioned doesn't specify 0005 as a retired aircraft but does mention some 13 odd examples being put up for retirement.

By the article you posted the USAF has right now two E7s that might be close to delivery with the rest scheduled to fly till 2032...

This makes the loss of the aircraft especially damning considering the replacements are not immediate.. no ?
