The AC-130 is flying below the mountain range. So any long distant system wouldn’t be able to “see it” since the mountain would block the radars. Also there is curvature of the earth to take into account as well (this is why OTH radars are powerful since they bounce waves off the upper atmosphere).

This is why I insisted that Israeli attacks on our OTH sites before the 12-day war shouldn't have been overlooked. Iran is the heaven of flying below the radar for cruise missiles and military aircraft.

IMO a MANPADS are unable to shoot down this kind of aircrafts, they´re equiped with DIRCM designed to blind IR seekers with lasers
