So, you're right.

While I can´t speak on behalf portuguese and french (the firsts are regarded with high consideration from spaniards), I can assure you that none US aircrafts related to this war are flying over Spain. Basically because Pedro Sánchez (high regarded also by me, among others) would fall if public oppinion knows we´re participating in a way or another in this fvcking war.

A helicopter is by its nature a weakly protected and soft skinned target ( except for a AH-1 or Apache of course). The fact that a MANPAD could not take down a helicopter which should be quite easy does suggest a design flaw in the MANPADs that Iran operates. I can understand a fast jet not be downed, but a helicopter should be taken down by a MANPAD...

We have been over this, a manpad’s warhead is 6-7kg of Airburst fragmentation variety some have slightly bigger ones like US stinger. So unless you fragment around the tail, the chopper can continue flying.

Also it’s quite possible the helicopter took small arms fire or maybe LMG fire. The small fire looked to be around the rotor maybe a fuel line was hit or something. It wasn’t near the tail.

Again the real way to shoot those helicopters and SP OP C130 it is with Missile 358. Those with IR will be deceived easily with their DIRCM. Probably that was the reason why MANPADs just hit A10 and F16... and maybe the F15.... Because none of them have DIRCM.

- shot down US F-15E over west Iran, 1 crew still unaccounted for

- hit and damaged Blackhawk helicopter sent to rescue the crew

- hit and lightly damaged A-10 sent to rescue the crew (Babak's claim for now)

it's a shame the helicopter wasn't downed. but if they find the other F-15 crew member then it's a good blow to the US.

I’m sure Turkey will also put pressure on him to prevent the war from spreading.

Now to the topic, actually Ahmed Sharaa realizes this as an opportunity to pressure Israel and the West.

Why? Because their promises of lifting sanctions and allowing for reconstruction of Syria are falling flat on their head. In other words they're selling cheap talk to Syrians and trying to keep Syria as a nation that's not truly sovereign, but reduced to living off aid handouts and not progressing in any sense.

Same way they do with Palestinains. Now I do not know if that tweet is true. It likely isn't. But I'll check sources.

They certainly aren't doing it for Iran but they're fed up of this stalling going on where Arab/Europeans/US sell cheap talk but are actually treating Syria same way as Hamas in Gaza or Morsi in Egypt.

With 1 pilot of F15 already missing and dangerous SAR operations going on ...

If this trend continues .. and even 1 to 2 more pilots potentially fall into Iran, this will quickly turn into a nightmare for Trump to manage and handle.

Based on a large number of posts and comments I have been seeing today ... In the eyes of US public , Trump's reckless and pointless war has started to now put pilots, as well as but lots of SAR personnel at risk, for no reason.
