Actually, if the Trump administration will deploy ground troops to Iran, this rescue mission definitely thought the Iranian military leaders where they have shortcomings.

It is very likely that the Iranian military leaders will provide shoulder-fired SAMs to their Basij forces. And equipping the local forces with MANPADs will definitely make future SAR operations much more difficult.

The US will need 500,000 minimum for the invasion so that’s an unrealistic scenario. Those 5,000 Marines something would occupy strategic points in Iran, but that’s still weeks or months away. Iran still has thousands of missiles, and drones. Every ground invasion is suicide.

Listen the HEU is a smoke screen propaganda story.

Because for all this focus on 400-600KG of HEU there is another 9000kg of enriched uranium of lower levels.

A hidden cascade or two of IR-9 centrifuges (20+ SWU) can enrich a 3.5% uranium to 90% in a week, maybe a bit more. IR-6 can do it under a month.

so you cannot seriously believe that the U.S. would take the 600kg HEU and then just decide to leave Iran 9000kg of enriched uranium and call it a day. That’s just propaganda they tell the masses who don’t know about the 9000kg or the nuclear fuel cycle.

You either take it all or you don’t take it at all.

So that proposal of landing half a battalion (400 troops) near one of the nuke sites and holding that position for 12-24 hrs with heavy air cover while marines with a detachment of Seabees try to excavate and get the enriched uranium out may not seem far fetched or suicidal.

Unlike you, I don't think that people on PDF get to set policy for Iran's armed forces. Seymour Hersh report says otherwise. Pak establishment knew about the operation. This was Obama's re-election ticket and Pakistan was at best going to get a slap on the wrist

why iran didn't produce manpads in large quantities like drones and missiles?? It is not so expensive such as AIR force and Fighter jets

I dont think success of rescue op = success of doing a ground invasion to control territory or hold land.

I agree with mr solar doing raids is more plausible and will embolden trumpy.

Thing is raids wont win this war.

Last report I saw, which was a day or so ago, was 350 or 360 US service personnel have been injured to date.

I would say that President Trump absolutely cares a lot more about US servicemen and women than his immediate predecessor did.

He cares so much he sent them off to another unnecessary war of choice!
