Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

The U.S. lost 52 fixed wing aircraft and 23 helicopters in the Gulf War. In the Iraq war the U.S. lost nearly 150 helicopters. Losses have actually been at a minimum both from Iranian fire and friendly fire thus far.

Two very very different timelines here. If this war went on for the sam amount of time as the Iraq war at this rate of attrition US losses would be unbearable, 400 plus

Something is not adding up in US story. There is an identified helicopter in the background here. I would strongly recommend to take the American's story with a pinch of salt. Give it a week for the fog to settle.

You were talking about 9,000 kg of 3.5% enriched uranium. You said the 60% HEU was a smokescreen and Iran had 9 tons of lower grade enriched uranium.

No I said 9000KG of lower grade uranium.

I can redo the calculations for this 200 kilograms of 20% uranium if you want.

I'm going to spare you the details, but the bottom line is this:
You will get about 44 kilograms of 90% HEU in 2 months, assuming you have two cascades of IR-9. Each cascade contains 164 machines in a typical configuration like IR-1, IR-2 and IR-6 and assuming IR-9 has a SWU of 30 per year.

I think it can be shorter. But we have to agree to disagree on this.

That's enough for nearly 6 fission devices, assuming a relatively typical compression factor of 2.

Again, the issue of converting this 44 kilograms of UF6 gas into uranium metal is still there.
Also, our devices won't be boosted-fission bombs because they have already destroyed our deuterium and tritium facilities. Hence, lower yield.

No, the point of my comment wasn’t actually building the bomb that fast. The point was how absurd people are focusing only on the HEU when Iran can regenerate it. That’s why Trump won’t stop with just the HEU.

Plutonium that we can't get our hands on it because the Russians are there, and we do not have facilities for plutonium reprocessing to the best of our knowledge.

Russians are leaving in droves. Decent possibility Israel hits it next week. I’m sure there is only a tiny skeleton crew left.

And it’s quite simple to reprocess it actually. You should read this article.

By Russia’s own admission there are 210 tons of spent fuel at the plant.

Now you can see why Israel keeps bombing around the plant, because it’s worried Iran will attempt to remove the spent fuel as well like it did the Fordow material days before the bombing.

Again, what happened to the crews of these two C-130s?
Three more C-130s arrived when the two got stuck. Cht man all of sudden folks are becoming conspiracy theorist.... Where's the mud mam something aint jiving!!!

They got stuck no mention of mud just got stuck it happens.

oh gosh ... American's and Indians have one thing in common, they can take even the smallest of things and make them sound melodramatic (and make a movie out of it)

Human mind has a great survival instinct when it comes to saving itself from shame. The US faced embarrassing damages to what they always perceived as an invincible airforce, with not only a Jet being shot down, but losing even one more jet and getting more assets damaged in rescue attempts.

In many situations, people prefer to double down on things as a form of mental defense. One can take the win, learn from any mistakes and let the enemy mentally deal with their losses in whatever ways they can manage it. Expecting the other side to fall on the floor and cry in front of everyone, claiming they failed, is an unrealistic expectation.

US only has the rescue attempt as a face saving in all of this fiasco. They will milk it as much as possible to drown out the shame that they faced in this all.

You want Iran to find 1 pilot in this terrain:

Last picture is Lordegan area which is just KMs away from where helicopters were reported.

Judging Iran’s ground forces because they cannot find a needle in a haystack is very short sighted.

US special forces are the best in the world. Hands down. No debate. The U.S. military excels at two tasks really really well: Blitzkreig air attack operations (Midnight Hammer) and Special Forces raids (Bin Laden raid, Al Baghdadi raid).

You cannot expect Iran to match the U.S. in either of these two areas or even come close.

The good news is, Iranian islands and coastline won’t be invaded by tens of thousands of special forces, it will be infantry and marines having to attack then hold territory and defend. That’s very different than quick infiltration operations by highly skilled operators
If Iran couldn't find the pilot but the US forces are able to evacuate him from deep inside Iran.... after (reported) fierce fighting......

That's what I meant..
