No, but both Pakistan and India were looking for off-ramp before things got really destructive. This is what Pakistan is advising both sides.
For some odd reason, the entire chagrin is at Pakistan very unfairly. I can guarantee, sometime down the road, Pakistan will be lamenting and reminding "See, we told you all".
Hi I am new here. Been following this thread as a guest, made an account because I have real difficulty in understanding Pakistan proposed ceasefire. It is completely one sided in favour of Israel/America. Tantamount to capitulation of Iran and deliberate back stabbing by Pakistan ( I will explain in abit as I present my argument)
1) Strait of Hormuz.
That is the biggest Iranian leverage. Even opening up strait of Hormuz for a few days will..
A) Allow all the tankers stranded there to move out.
B) Also will cause rapid emptying of oil storage capacities. Filling up of storage in the current situation will lead to drastic cut down in oil production which takes a much longer time to recover.
C) Will drastically bring oil prices down.
2) Will allow Israel and America time to accumulate more interceptors which Iran is so much trying to deplete, increasing its chances of hitting targets.
3) Will give the aggressors time for maintenance of its aircraft which has seen significant sorties.
4) Can allow them to gather forces uninterrupted without any risk and give them time to more comprehensively plan.
5) Break the momentum of Iranian people and give aggressors time to sell it domestically, a front at which which they are facing significant blowback.
Now coming to why I said BACKSTAB.
1) It shifts the blame/impression on solely Iran that it rejected even a supposed friendly country proposal while America accepts it (there is no reason why they won't as it is completely one sided) , while alleviating trump of backlash globally (especially his ratings and support among Americans).
At the same time portraying Iran as warmongering and against peace).
Completely shifting the narrative of war and providing trump an allaby to go harder in a couple of weeks.
THEY ARE GOING TO TRY TO DESTROY IRAN INFRA-STRUCTURE ANYWAY AFTER 2 WEEKS WITH MUCH LESS CONSEQUENCES THAN NOW.
WE ALL KNOW THIS.
If Pakistani system actually cares about Iran as is it trying to sell it is, if
1) Comprehensive end of hostilities not a ceasefire with guarantees.
2) Not insisting on opening of strait of Hormuz and rather developing a consensus with Saudi and Qatar after the end of hostilities to develop a joint plan with Iran and Oman.
3) Work towards a new security arrangement in middle east and try to bridge differences.
Without any of this. It just reeks of back stabbing, apart of plan to put down Iran softly without noise.
