I think people misunderstand markets, the s & p has lost about 5% since the start of this conflict, and when you compare that to the level of destruction then the exchange ratio really is not that favourable if you hoped to bring financial markets down

Oil is around 110 but it would take significantly longer and more destruction to get it over to 150, and in that scenario the global South is in trouble

I'm starting to see a link between today's vetoes by China and Russia, and these ceasefire talks that seem to be ongoing. Hardly a coincidence in my opinion.
