Its not insurance for the ships. Its an environmental insurance fee. They pass the strait, they must pay. Or some other BS.

I don't understand how that's different than a toll or why the optics of it would be more legal. What exactly are you "insuring"?

Leading to this war, India's General GD Bakhshi was saying Pakistan was going to facilitate the American attack through Baluchistan. But even he has become saner once he realized the cruelty of this war, starting with the bombing of the school in southern Iran. Mr. Bakhshi still can't say anything good about Pakistan but he seems to be a changed person now.

Toll feels like blackmail. But if we cite some bs like environmental issue, insurance because oil spills would pollute our environment or whatever it feels more valid and we play their game. Just a late night thought. Don’t take it too seriously

India doesn’t care about Iranians. It was all forced diplomacy. In the beginning Europe and many others in the world were harsh towards the nation of Iran when they thought regime was collapsing and it was going to be a quick war.

Then when it became clear Iran wasn’t going anywhere and the strait was now closed, suddenly everyone had “regrets” to convey to Iran regarding the Minab school massacre.

But don’t you worry, Modi will jumping up and down like a golden retriever for Bibi the second his phone rings.

I will never understand why Iran has such friendly ties with India. They haven’t done a single thing for Iran. They didn’t develop Chabahar port despite their legal commitments. All they have been for iran historically is a oil purchaser until Trump sanctions forced them to leave.

I maybe one of those minority Pakistanis on PDF who'd say this: I don't think Iran ever gave preference to India over Pakistan. There were some tensions starting with right after the 1979 revolution in Iran where Iran was reaching beyond its borders and that affected sectarian tensions in Pakistan. Then in late 90s the Afghan Taliban regime of Mullah Umer's action caused issues between Pakistan and Iran. Those two were the lowest points in the two countries' relationship plus the rogue Iranian missile attack on Pakistan just 1-2 years ago to which Pakistan responded and then almost literally the very next day they hugged each other. Bizarre!
The Iranian Chahbahar Port built by Indians would not be threat to Pakistan more than some Indians getting visas to do spying on Pakistan.
Finally, Ayatollah Khamenei had publicly stood by Pakistan over the Kashmir issue much to India's annoyance.
