An ambassador of an Arab state that has normalized relations with Israel revealed that an adviser at Lebanon's Baabda Presidential Palace told him: “Why are you rushing to stop the war? The war must continue in order to eliminate Hezbollah.”

In another instance, a European foreign minister who recently visited Lebanon said that the same adviser accompanied him when entering a meeting with the president. The minister was reportedly told by the adviser: “The war must continue until Hezbollah is eliminated.”

Will Iran join China, Russia and the United States as a fourth major power on the world stage?

Iran's resilience in the face of the U.S.-Israeli war is already shifting the global balance of power, says American political scientist Robert Pape. "What you are seeing with Iran is that its geography, in combination with a level of drone technology that we simply cannot destroy," is demonstrating to other countries that they may not have to stay beholden to U.S. hegemony.

"What makes us think we're really going to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power in the next six months or a year?" asks Pape. "Iran is far stronger than it was just 40 days ago. It is in control of 20% of the world's oil. It is now an emerging fourth center of power. … The United States is on one side, and the rivals are China, Russia and now Iran."

I don't agree with the assertion by this professor that Iran will become a major world power. That wont be the case for some decades(though Iran has the education people to achieve a lot more than it has now). Iran, could however become a major regional power that will eclipse most of the other Arab countries for certain if the sanctions can be removed. A population of 90 million, puts it close to Egypt (112million) though Iran has the advanced of a better educated population and better industrial capabilities for now.

I don't agree with the assertion by this professor that Iran will become a major world power. That wont be the case for some decades(though Iran has the education people to achieve a lot more than it has now). Iran, could however become a major regional power that will eclipse most of the other Arab countries for certain if the sanctions can be removed. They are probably maintenance and ground crew for the jets... Some SSW personnel could be included as well considering security is still a problem..
